Announcements, and a Delayed Day in the Life...

I have a very, very, VERY big announcement.

In less than 2 months I am going to Disney World!!
Last week, my parents called my brother and I into the living room.  Dad casually walks by where I am sitting and hands me a stack of papers.  I look at them intently for a moment trying to decipher the meaning, when I realized that it was our tickets and trip plans!!

Do you all know what else this means?

Disney Blogs!!

When we went last year I slacked off… I had good intentions, because I still have all of the commentary on daily activities recorded on my phone, and the pictures on my camera, but they never came together and made it to the blog.

So in honor of this Announcement…

Better late than never right?

Disney 2014: Day 1
At this moment it is 2:53 a.m. and we are on our way to Disney! We got the car all packed last night, moved in the last few things this morning, and off we went! We were worrying about fitting all we had in the trunk of our little Kia, but it all fit with room to spare! Now, I think I might sleep a little bit, talk to you all later!

5:28 a.m.
It is way to early for me to be awake... and yet I can't sleep! I half-listened half-slept through the first 3 chapters of Treasure Island audio book with Dad, and now we are back to country music, which is preferable.

9:49 a.m.
We just finished eating breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, somewhere in Georgia... I had French Toast with cooked apples on top, and sausage.

I got a couple of hours of sleep in last night, despite the music, talking, brother waking up intermittently (and way to happily), and extreme discomfort of a backseat packed with luggage! We are still about 5 hours away, but when you think about it, it is a 10 hour drive, so we are over halfway there!
Right now we are watching Frozen, and singing all of the songs by heart!

11:48 a.m.
We just crossed over into Florida! We stopped at the welcome center, stretched our legs, got baby cups of orange juice, and picked up some adorable Disney pamphlets we didn't really need!

Now we are back on the road, and about 3 hours away from Disney!

3:00 p.m.
Just found the Disney outlet! And it was an absolute MADHOUSE!! I got a tiny Malificent button, and two boxes of "Mystery Pins" that were $6.99 each (later looking at the Disney gift shops, the mystery boxes were 2 for $28!! I did well...). Now, lets get out of here and go to Disney!!

4:00 p.m.
WE ARE HERE!!
The gate to the most magical place on earth!

The gate to our hotel, which is by far the best one in Disney

We got here just a little bit ago and have been just relaxing in the room since then. We are staying at the French Quarter. I "unpacked" sort of by organizing some things on shelves and food and drinks in the drawers. There isn't much storage space in these rooms... Dad had only slept about 2 hours, so he is napping at the moment. For once we don't have a plan! So it should be a pretty chill evening :)
Our beds covered in all of the Disney stuffed animals we brought... there were quite a few!

This was the towel Mickey Mouse they leave on the bed in every room, I love him :)

And these are the little bath product, which actually don't work the best, but are flippin' adorable!

7:15 p.m.
We just finished dinner at the cafeteria type Quick Service restaurant at our hotel. I had macaroni and cheese, carrots, and grapes, and yes, it was a kid's meal ;) It was pretty good. We also looked around our resort, which is sooooo pretty! We've stayed here once before and I love it!
Now we are going to drive over to the Polynesian resort to watch the Wishes fireworks!

9:43 p.m.
At this moment we are hanging out on the grass at the Grand Floridian waiting for the fireworks! We parked at the Polynesian resort first, but it was under construction and not a feasible spot to watch fireworks. Therefore, we moved to the ritzy Grand Floridian and are beyond amazed at how big and elegant it is! Eventually, we made our way down to the “beach” and watched the end of the Electric Light Parade.
They had Nemo playing on a big screen in the sand, so we decided to pull up beach chairs and watch until time for fireworks. Which is what brought us here!
Sunset on the beach at the Polynesian!

This is the floor at The Grand Floridian... Guys, Disney even makes the floor pretty!!
(If you don't know, this is Peter Pan!)

10:56 p.m.
Oh my gosh you guys... the fireworks! Disney fireworks put all others to shame! We watched from the grass beside the lake, with a view of the top half of the castle, and with the music being piped in. It couldn't have been more perfect!!

12:03 a.m.
Well guys, I am coming back to you slightly less than 24 hours later than when this post began and I'm beat! Even though most if the day have just consisted of driving, it has been a looong day! But there couldn't be much of a better way to start than this! It was perfect! But now, it is time to rest up for the next perfect day! Goodnight guys :)

Homemade Beauty... Soothing Foot Spa

As I have done for the past few months, the first Monday of this month is going to be a "Homemade Beauty" post, and then on Wednesday I will get up my "What I did this month" post! I thought after all of the stress of the holidays, I thought this might be just the thing you all needed! You Will Need: Epsom salt essential oil of your choice Directions: To tell the truth, this is actually pretty simple! Add your epsom salts and a few drops of essential oils to your foot bath. Soak for up to 20 minutes! :)

Be Mine... Kissable Lip Routine

I thought this was a kind of unique post, but also a great way to kick off Beach Babe's Be Maine Valentine's Day Series! I mean, you can't have a Valentines Day without soft kissable lips! Even if you don't have a Valentine this year, you don't want to be caught by surprise! ;) First thing i do (and the very first thing you all should do!) is start out by exfoliating your lips! Before I use a Lip Scrub, I run warm water over a washcloth, wring it out, and rub my lips with this. Next I take a lip scrub (if you would like to know what I use check out this link here, but any kind you prefer will work). I use the washcloth on my lips first so that they will be more open to absorb the benefits of the Scrub. Lastly, I apply some of the lip scrub to a clean toothbrush and use this on my lips. Grab the washcloth once again and wipe the scrub and crystals away! :) The next thing you should do in your kissable lips routine, is apply a lip balm. My favorites are the eos

Homemade Beauty: Greek Yogurt Mask

Ingredients: Cotton Balls Probiotic Capsule Cold Plain Greek Yogurt How To: Split open the probiotic capsule and mix it into 3 or 4 tablespoons of Greek yogurt in a small bowl. Using a cotton ball, apply the mixture to your face in an even layer. Let the mask set for 10 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel.  Greek yogurt contains lactose enzymes which dissolve dirt and nourish your skin, while the probiotic invigorates your skin leaving it with a healthy glow. This combination also helps to reduce redness and calm breakouts.
