Valentine's Day: Five Senses Present Idea

So I made this present for my boyfriend for our Anniversary, but because Valentine's Day is just as lovey-dovey, I think it would be perfect now as well!  This is called the Five Senses present, so each piece of the present is themed around one of the five senses.  I always like to do lots of little things instead of one big present, so when I fund this idea on Pinterest, I thought it was perfect!  This was in no way my idea (though I don't know who to credit...) but I thought I would show you all my take on it, as well as give some other options! First of all, I numbered them because I wanted him to open them in a certain order, but that is in no way required!  I started with a good present, put two of the more mediocre ones in the middle, and then the two big ones at the end! 1.) Sight For the first present, I gave him a framed picture of the two of us.  This is from the Avett Bothers concert we went to, which I actually did a post about if you'...

Last Minute Present: Oven Mitt

This is a super easy (and cheap) present that someone who loves baking or cooking would adore!  I received this as a gift last year and I was so excited!  To top it all off, this present couldn't get any easier, and it could be made for under $10 but is very versatile and can be made as elaborate or simple as you want!   So the basics, you are going to need an oven mitt to put the whole present in, and then a few tools to solidify the cooking theme.  I know for a fact the mitt, as well as the tools below, came from Walmart and can be snagged super cheap. Then you need to fill it with candy and food!  In mine she added chocolate chip cookie mix, hot chocolate mix, and candy canes.  Super simple right?  And definitely something you could run to Walmart right now and put together.  Like I said before, there are many variations you could do with this present!  My mom has a wood burning tool and can burn designs into wooden...

Present DIY: Mugcake

So I understand that this is staged fall instead of Christmas, but I made this and took the pictures before my anniversary in October! Sadly, very few people have holidays in October, so I decided to hold on to the pictures until Christmas when it could actually be useful! Aaaaanyway, this is my version of an easy double chocolate mug cake!  This is an easy present you could make for someone in no time for under $5.  If you gave them this and a nice mug that would be an awesome present! What you will need: Angel Food Cake Mix Devil's Food Cake Mix (Or any flavor really! This is up to you as long as you have the Angel Food in there) Chocolate Chips (Optional) Pretty Container  From this point it's pretty easy!  Just mix a full box of angel food with a full box of devil's food, add as many chocolate chips as you want, and you are done!  Because this isn't a super dense cake, the chocolate chips will fall to the bottom giving it a chocolate...

Sprezza Box: October

This type of post is a bit out of the ordinary for me... You all know I am obsessed with subscription boxes, but this one is a man's subscription box!  I have seen this type of box before and thought they looked interesting, but expensive and a bit feminine.   This one was neither of those things.  It is normally $28, which is more than I like to pay for a box, but they were doing a promotion for your first box for $8!  I thought, why not?  I can either give it to my boyfriend or my day, everyone wins!  The box came with: A Countess Mara Tie Sprezza brand Cufflinks Paul Evans Socks A Business Card Holder "Fashion Anchors" (set of 6) Frey for Men Laundry Detergent (1 load) As you can see, it came with many really nice items, that seem to be good quality, and were beautifully packaged! I plan to give the tie and socks to my boyfriend as part of his Christmas present, and the business card holder to my friend who is currently...

Themed Presents: Movies

Though the other themed presents I have suggested were versatile, this one can be made completely your own!  It is perfect for the movie lover, and you can choose any movie you like! This was a present for my boyfriend for our first Christmas, and I chose Batman! Let's start with the basics... Popcorn Buckets - I bought one big one and two small ones to put in the back.  They are a little flimsy, but sturdier than a bag!  They are each from dollar tree for... well I think that is kind of obvious. Candy - The dollar boxes of movie candy (also from Dollar Tree!) are necessary for this present to give it that real movie feel. Popcorn -  You can't go to a movie without popcorn!  You can go very basic and get cheaper popcorn, or go for some crazy flavors (I currently have salted caramel in my pantry!), or be super simple and easy and buy them a bag of the really good already popped stuff. Now after you've got the basic stagi...

Themed Presents: Beatles

For this music themed present, I chose to do the Beatles.  This was an ironic choice for me, because I hate the Beatles with a burning passion… I know, that is sacrilege to some people, but I just really hate them!  My boyfriend on the other hand, loves them, and takes every opportunity to play their music to get on my nerves! This present wasn’t as much chosen, as the pieces just kind of fell together.  As I said in my Guide to Christmas Shopping post, I like to get my shopping done early, and when there are sales! At one the millions of “biggest sales of the year!” at Old Navy over the Summer, I found this really cool Beatles t-shirt for super cheap.  It is so soft, and looks like a movie poster/ticket! This was around $7. At Ross, which is another one of my favorite stores, they have a whole wall of really nice framed pictures and canvases.  I found this shadow box style picture a few months later, and when I bought it I wasn’t even thinking...

Themed Presents: Truffles All Around!

I know I have mentioned this to you all before, but I love giving presents. I love giving presents even more when they are themed!  Something seems just so pretty and put together when presents are all cohesive around one theme. Therefore, this year I thought it might be fun to have a little mini series in preparation for Christmas of some super cute themed presents And my first one is... Truffles Because who doesn't like truffles? For this present I chose a combination of bath products called "Tub Truffles", and chocolate truffles! The tub truffles are a bath melt, you place them in hot water and they begin to melt and flow through the water.  I ordered the Warm Vanilla Sugar scent, and they truly look and smell edible!  As they melt they release their scent, and make the water feel so soft and silky!  They are made from cocoa butter, so not only does the water feel amazing, so does your skin!  You can get them for $14.99-$15.99 on ...
