About Me


Hi, my name is Bethany!

 I am 22 years old, and just graduated from Appalachian State University!  I majored in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in English and Social Studies.  I am currently working in an Afterschool Care program, as well as tutoring and substituting until I find a full time teaching position.  I have one younger brother who is in middle school, and I am a very family oriented person.  I am also currently in a relationship with a wonderful man who attended Appalachian as well!  Some of my passions include baking cupcakes, packing, essential oils, and blogging, and I am absolutely crazy about Disney!

 I created this blog in 2012 and at the time, I was a high school sophomore ecstatic about going to the beach and in need of an outlet for projecting that excitement.  Since its creation, the goals of this blog have slightly changed and matured as I have.  Most of my posts are now focused around my life, including travel, as well as special events and my daily activities. I also enjoy posting about baking, drinks, and other recipes, as well as makeup, subscription boxes, essential oils, packing, and planning. If you can't tell, it's a pretty eclectic mix, but writing about each of these things truly sparks joy in my life!

Girls Night In!

Time to unwind with a girls night!  If you are like me and my adorable roomie, you just completed a week of mind numbing midterms and you need to unwind.   Priority number one is getting into the comfiest possible clothes that you own, bonus points if you have super cute matching pjs unlike me... My top pick is my boyfriends flannel (which is huge on me! <3) and leggings with fuzzy socks.   If you want to go the comfy but cute route, Adore Me has sleepwear ranging from sexy slips and camis if you are having a night in with your significant other, cute sweats for a girls night like we are having, and robes if you just need something to cuddle up in and be extra cozy! I highl y reccomend them!  And, just like with their bra and panty sets, your first set is only $25! Step two is to slap on a face mask! Influenster Spirit VoxBox

I know I've been pretty absent the past month or two and this isn't one of my usual post days, but I wanted to go ahead and let you all know that I got another VoxBox!! This one was the Spirit VoxBox.  I'm not entirely sure the significance of the theme of this box, but it had some cute and interesting new products This was the NYC Lovatics Lip and Cheek tint, and is apparently a collaboration from Demi Lovato. This is supposed to be similar product to the Benefit Benetint product!  I've tried it, and I can vouch for the fact that it is definitely a STAIN, so don't mess up, and if you use your fingers to spread it then beware!  It isn't drying at all, though it does tend to cling to the drier places on your lips.  The color is a bright pink and lasts the entire day, if not longer!  And that is no exaggeration...  I can't say I'm a huge fan of it as a cheek stain, but I am still working on figuring out how to apply it the correct way. Sprezza Box: October

This type of post is a bit out of the ordinary for me... You all know I am obsessed with subscription boxes, but this one is a man's subscription box!  I have seen this type of box before and thought they looked interesting, but expensive and a bit feminine.   This one was neither of those things.  It is normally $28, which is more than I like to pay for a box, but they were doing a promotion for your first box for $8!  I thought, why not?  I can either give it to my boyfriend or my day, everyone wins!  The box came with: A Countess Mara Tie Sprezza brand Cufflinks Paul Evans Socks A Business Card Holder "Fashion Anchors" (set of 6) Frey for Men Laundry Detergent (1 load) As you can see, it came with many really nice items, that seem to be good quality, and were beautifully packaged!
