About Me


Hi, my name is Bethany!

 I am 22 years old, and just graduated from Appalachian State University!  I majored in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in English and Social Studies.  I am currently working in an Afterschool Care program, as well as tutoring and substituting until I find a full time teaching position.  I have one younger brother who is in middle school, and I am a very family oriented person.  I am also currently in a relationship with a wonderful man who attended Appalachian as well!  Some of my passions include baking cupcakes, packing, essential oils, and blogging, and I am absolutely crazy about Disney!

 I created this blog in 2012 and at the time, I was a high school sophomore ecstatic about going to the beach and in need of an outlet for projecting that excitement.  Since its creation, the goals of this blog have slightly changed and matured as I have.  Most of my posts are now focused around my life, including travel, as well as special events and my daily activities. I also enjoy posting about baking, drinks, and other recipes, as well as makeup, subscription boxes, essential oils, packing, and planning. If you can't tell, it's a pretty eclectic mix, but writing about each of these things truly sparks joy in my life!

Guys, I finally got another one!  If you weren't around for the first one I got  (here is the link to the first post) then I will explain what this is again. Would You Rather...? TAG

So what do you guys think of me doing TAG posts? Yes? No? Annoying? Maybe? Email me some feedback! :) 1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no make-up? Messy hair, nice makeup 2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out? Eyelashes fall out... You could use falsies! :) 3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life? Sephora! More options! 4. Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or an 80's perm? Hmmmm... Packing Do's and Don'ts

If you're like most girls, you probably over pack for EVERYTHING!  "This summer, stick to the 50-percent packing method. So pack your suitcase once, take every thing out, pick half of all that stuff and re-pack. Seriously. Brilliant, right?" Ummm... No. I saw this on another website and I was like "Seriously???" You can bet that if I take the time to pick out clothes, set up outfits, and pack them in my suitcase, I AM NOT taking it all back out again!! So since we have officially ruled out that packing method, how about we discuss some other ways to save space and avoid overpacking! :) DO: 1. Check the calendar. If you're just going away for a weekend, you don't ten shirts, three skirts, two pairs of shorts, five pairs of jeans, and 500000000000000000..... pairs of shoes just because you might  need them. You won't. For short trips, put together outfits in your mind that you love and you know you will wear. For longer trips, pack...
