Beach Bag Essentials

I thought it would be fun to show you all what I keep in my beach bag while we are at the beach! So the first thing we need to address is the bag.   You need one that is functional, as well as cute, don't think only about the cute factor!   My mom has one that I borrowed for my beach trip earlier this summer that functions as a bag on top with a cooler on the bottom!   This is simply a canvas Del Sol bag, but it sure gets the job done! The first thing I find absolutely necessary at the beach is reading material!   This year I brought the second book in the Seafina series, as well as a set of James Patterson’s “book shots” called Kisses at Midnight.   I love reading, but I so rarely have the time to devote to a book.   The beach is the perfect place to finish them all! If books aren’t your thing then try something a little lighter with a magazine.   I carried these two around all week and never cracked them open beca...

Packing List

If you all have been around here for a while you know that I used to post packing lists all the time... Like, once a month almost!  I looked at my "Universal Packing List" I had listed one day and realized it was in desperate need of an update definitely NOT universal!  I recently posted a college packing list, but that still isn't really the same thing as just a vacation packing list!  I needed a new one of those!  And that, my darlings, is how we arrived back here, at my original inspiration for creating my blog, the packing list. This one is in no way "universal," but it encompasses a lot of things that I like to have and make me comfortable while I'm on vacation.  I dan't pack all of this every time, and to be honest if I do pack it all there is always something I end up not using, but I was happy to have it regardless.  So keep in mind, these are just my suggestions! Toiletries These are my favorite things to pack, I always pack so muc...

College Countdown: Packing Makeup and Toilitries

Makeup So this is where I keep all of my Makeup!  It was a basic small five drawer set with clear drawers from Walmart, and then I took tacky paper which I got from the dollar bin at Target and washi tape and decorated it!  I plan to label the drawers with chalkboard labels, but I have bad handwriting so I decided to wait and lett someone else write on them... The top drawer is my most accessed face base products drawer! Face Primer Full Coverage Foundation Lighter Coverage BB Cream/Tinted Moisturizer Under Eye Concealer Spot Concealer Pressed Powder The second drawer contains all of my bluch, bronzer, and highlight products. Cheeks Blush Highlight Bronzer In the back of my desk organizer I keep my letter organizer with my eyeshadow palletes Eyeshadow Eye Primer Palletes - I suggest bringing primarily your favorite pallete, such as my Naked 3, instead of dealing with the clutter of single eyeshadows (even though I brought a few of th...

College Countdown: Packing Clothing and Cleaning Out

Let's tackle the packing part first... Instead of folding or rolling all of the clothes which needed to be hung up and carting them to college in a suitcase, I left them on hangers and wrapped a trash bag around them.  Once arriving in my dorm I hung them up, cut off the bags, and everything was great!  Also, if you can guarantee that you won't need your warm winter kind of clothing until after Fall Break, then don't bring it!  Take home summer clothes over Spring Break and bring back any fall clothes (which I'll mark on this list with a * for convenience). Many people on the Internet strictly recommend the thin felt hangers, I have used cheap Walmart hangers and haven't had a problem, so I guess it's personal preference! Dresses Little Black Dress Versatile Skirt "Party" Dress Sunday Dress Shirts Button Downs - Can be worn as light jackets in the spring and fall, or more formally if needed.  I suggest bringing: Denim/Chambr...

College Countdown: Basic College Packing List

In this list I'm not going to go over every single thing.  Throughout this week I will do separate posts on Clothing and Makeup etc.  On Saturday of this week I will post a concise version of this including everything mentioned.  For now I would just like to go over basics such as kitchen items, "school supplies" and other items you may not have thought of! Kitchen These are basics that you might need if you are in a dorm and do not necessarily have a kitchen.  I will have a sink, so it will be doable for me to wash dishes as needed.  If you do not have a sink you might consider buying disposable silverware and dishes so you won't have to wash them in the bathroom. Plastic Bowls Plastic Cups Tumblers or Reusable Water Bottles - I recommend this regardless of if you have a sink. Brita Pitcher - The water will probably be different from what you are used to, and this will make the transition easier Ice Cube Trays Plastic Ice Cubes - If the water is jus...

Spring Break Essentials (Vegas Edition!)

When going on Spring Break there are some basic essentials everyone needs, but when going to Vegas on Spring Break?  You have to have your packing list down to a "T"! I was inspired by Vegas.com's One Bag or Bust initiative, along with multiple other bloggers, to each pick up to five of our own Spring Break essentials, and these are mine! Cute Koozie - This would have to be my first essential, because no matter what kind of drink you have on hand, it is going to get hot quick in that Vegas heat.  Keeping it iced or frozen and in a Koozie is an essential for keeping your drink... drinkable.  They have a set of two super cute and girly ones in the Target dollar section right now for $3! Water Bottle - Along with that Koozie, you are going to need a good water bottle to stay hydrated!  The heat intense and will quickly dehydrate you, but if you are also drinking?  That is an all day hangover waiting to happen...  So, go one for one.  For every a...

Winter Packing List!

Once again, I am going to Pigeon Forge for my Birthday! But this time, I am going with my best friend! Aren't we just adorable?? :P I am done with the whole "Trips with the boyfriend" thing, and it's not that I don't like my boyfriend! I would just much rather shop and chill out with my best friend for a couple of nights in Pigeon forge :) So here are my suggestions... Toiletries This is pretty basic, standard stuff... Toothbrush Toothpaste Deodorant ( Yes it's cold, yes you still need it ) Hair   - Brush    - Widetooth Comb     - Hair styling products ( I don't use all these, just some options )        - Mousse         - Dry Shampoo         - Hair Spray         - Leave-in Conditioner    - Hair Straightener Body Lotion ( Combat that dry skin! ) Perfume Skincare products    - Cleanser   - Oil Blotting...
