Packing List

If you all have been around here for a while you know that I used to post packing lists all the time... Like, once a month almost!  I looked at my "Universal Packing List" I had listed one day and realized it was in desperate need of an update definitely NOT universal!  I recently posted a college packing list, but that still isn't really the same thing as just a vacation packing list!  I needed a new one of those!  And that, my darlings, is how we arrived back here, at my original inspiration for creating my blog, the packing list.

This one is in no way "universal," but it encompasses a lot of things that I like to have and make me comfortable while I'm on vacation.  I dan't pack all of this every time, and to be honest if I do pack it all there is always something I end up not using, but I was happy to have it regardless.  So keep in mind, these are just my suggestions!

Toiletries
These are my favorite things to pack, I always pack so much more than I need though!  Just for reference,  I can generally fit almost all of this in one of the hanging cases with pockets that roll up.
  • Teeth
    • Toothbrush
    • Toothpaste
    • Mouthwash
    • Floss (but let's be honest, if I'm not flossing at home, I'm not flossing ofn vacation...)
  • Hair
    • Bring whatever hair products you use on a normal basis, try not to bring too many “Just In Case” things.  I would bring things like Mousse, Hair Spray, Leave-in Conditioner, and Dry Shampoo.
    • Wide-tooth Comb
    • Brush
    • Hair Straightener/Curling Iron/Blow Dryer
  • Body Lotion/Aloe
  • Perfume
  • Skincare products
    • Oil Blotting Sheets
    • Makeup Remover Wipes
    • Toner
    • Facial Wash
    • Facial Scrub
    • Face/Eye Cream
    • Spot Treatment
  • If needed, Contacts, Case, Solution, and/or Glasses
  • Deodorant
  • Q-Tips
  • Shower Gel
  • Body Scrub
  • Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Bath Pouf
  • Razor and Shave Gel
  • If you use any of this on a regular basis… Nail File, Nail Polish Remover, Nail Clips, and Colored Nail Polish.  Don't bring it if you don't normally use it!
  • Medication, over the counter and prescription
  • Emergency Kit (pack things like bandaids, ice packs, gauzes, alcohol swabs... easy fixes for minor injuries.)

Makeup
I always pack too much makeup...
  • Base Makeup
    • Primer
    • Foundation/BB Cream
    • Spot Concealer
    • Under Eye Concealer
    • Powder
  • Cheeks/Contour
    • Bronzer
    • Highlight
    • Blush
  • Eyeshadow (Maybe try to stick to one palette you can get multiple looks out of instead of many individual eyeshadows.)
  • Eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Lips
    • Lipbalm
    • Lipgloss
    • Lipstick
  • Tools
    • Brushes (Foundation, Blush, Contour, Powder, Eyeshadow, etc.)
    • Tweezers
    • Eyeliner Pencil Sharpener

Clothing
  • Bras (Bralettes/Bandeaus, Strapless, etc. depending on the clothing you packed.)
  • Panties, always pack extra of these!  You can never have too many!
  • Fuzzy Socks (A personal necessity for me! But I guess you could also pack normal ones...)
  • Pajamas
  • Baseball Cap/Sun Hat depending on where you are going and/or your style.
  • Shoes (Sandals, Tennis Shoes, Boots, etc.)
  • Bathing Suit/Cover up
  • Workout Clothing (If that is your thing…)
  • An outfit for each day of the trip with items that can be mixed and matched so you can keep your suitcase as light as possible.  If it makes you more comfortable pack one extra outfit, but try to stick to only one!
  • A dress if you are going out somewhere nice one night.
  • A Belt

Other
  • Electronics
    • Laptop and Charger
    • Phone and Charger
    • Earbuds
    • External Phone Battery and Cord
    • Camera
  • Planner/Pens/Stickers
  • Book(s)/Magazines
  • Blanket and Pillow
  • Sunglasses
  • Wallet
  • Purse
If you ever want to find this post again it will be resuming its rightful place at the top of the page under the header "Packing List."  I hope this helped you all out and gave you an idea of what to pack of your next trip.  Happy travels!

VoxBox: Tressemé Beauty-Full Volume

I know I don't usually post at 9 o'clock on Monday nights, but I wanted to go ahead and get this out to you all while I had time, because... I got another VoxBox! This one was the Tresemmé Reverse Your Routine box with a full sized shampoo and conditioner. This is a Volumizing system, and is reffered to as "Reverse Your Routine" because you conditioner before you shampoo... Weird right?  I have to say I was a little confused and skeptical at first. The concept is that when you put conditioner in your hair and rinse then residue is left on weighing down your hair.  My thoughts were that the residue left were the moisturizing properties and that you wouldn't want to rid yourself of all of them... It just seemed a little pointless. I have been using this combination periodically for a few weeks now, and surprisingly I actually really like it!  When I get out of the shower my hair does feel much lighter than usual.  Though it is hard to tell if I have...

My Everyday/Travel Makeup Bag

So as I was putting together the list for makeup bag that I will have with me in the car when I go on my trip to the beach this summer, I decided that you might want to know exactly what's in there and why I bring them :) The first thing I going to show you is this awesome pallet I found in a discount makeup store: It is a "Sweet by Day, Sexy by Night" pallet. On one side it has a dark brown and a champagne shade eye shadow, a light and a dark shade of bronzer, a light and dark brown shade of lipgloss, and two small applicators. On the other it has a light shade of pink and an almost purple eye shadow, a light and dark shade of blush, a light and dark shade of pink lipgloss, and two small applicators. You can buy it at www.amazon.com/day-to-night for $5. I thought this was the most simple way to pack all that i would need! Next I'm going to show you the face products I am bringing: They are: The Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder The ELF Aloe Infus...

Winter As a College Student

Let me just tell you, there isn't a thing in the world fun about a dorm room in the winter!  On the happen chance that yours is as old as mine (pre-1960s, thank you very much) you probably have radiators too, which personally, I have very little control over.  Even on the off setting they exude so much heat that the room is stifling!  And then you open the window and snow starts blowing in... Yay Appalachian Mountains! Let's just all agree that is quite a process.  So what is one to do to combat these cold (and getting colder!) temperatures? First, I've got two B's for you (mostly because I couldn't come up with a third...)  Blankets and Bedwarmers! Let's face it, dorm rooms are tiny and your bed is the focus of the majority of decor, as well as where you will be spending a large portion of your time (yay Netflix binges!) so you need to make sure it is super cozy! Personally, I have my sheets and comforter that I sleep under every night.  ...
