Ipsy: May

We are back again with an old classic!  I have had Ipsy for years and paused it on and off from time to time, but it is definitely still my favorite subscription by far.  If you would like to sign up,  you can click here ! I had planned to review this one, but I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with the contents of this bag!  The last few have been great, so I was pretty shocked!  The actual bag however is glittery and gorgeous ! The first thing in this bag that I was most excited about was this full size Ofra liquid lipstick in the color Versailles.  The color is ok in the tube, but on the lips it is very shimmery to the point of having a frosty finish with no color whatsoever.  Also, when I took the wand out of the tube it looked separated... Somehow simultaneously oily and chunky.  I tried to mix it a bit, but as a result it felt more like a gloss than a liquid lipstick.  Disappointing...  This is the Innisfree ...

Marc Jacobs Beauty

So last year I was lucky enough to receive a Marc Jacobs Beauty VoxBox from Influenster!  I was by far more excited about this VoxBox than any other I had yet to receive.  But... I got lazy, and even though I took the pictures, I never ended up making a full post about it.  Well, flash forward to 2019 and guess what I get a notification about?  I am going to be getting ANOTHER VoxBox from Marc Jacobs Beauty!  I was ecstatic.  And this time, I was determined to let you all know about it.  But while we're here, why not show off what I got last year as well! If you have any interest in signing up for Influenster so you can also receive free products to try you can  sign up here ! So this is how the boxes come packaged.  Black box, black packaging, black paper, all very dark and sleek.  This lipstick claims to be 16 hour long wear with a liquid matte feel in a crayon.  I don't agree with that statement completely, but it does h...

Rimmel London Wonder' Swipe Voxbox

Straight from the source, the Wonder Swipe Eyeliner's claim's are as follows:  "SWIPE TO TRANSFORM! Breakthrough formula you can transform with the stroke of a finger.. 2-in-1 formula: a bold metallic liner that can be transformed into a sparkly shadow with one swipe 16 ultra pigmented shades Layer and combine the formula to create unique, show-stopping looks Up to 10 hours wear Smudge-proof, transfer-proof, touch-proof" I received mine in the color 006 My Bae (fourth from the left), which is very... pink.  I love pink toned eyeshadows, but you've got to be careful!  It is sometimes difficult to walk that line between sunset eyeshadow look and child who broke into their mom's makeup.  Using this as a standalone eyeliner almost takes it a step further to, my child stole used my makeup and the gave me pink eye. Sorry, extended metaphor, moving on. It is like a paintbrush style applicator, but it is hard like a silicone tip instead of b...

Ipsy: October

I know I'm a little late to the party with this one, but I'm trying! The theme of the October bag was Spellbound.  I love that they are doing these little cards now!  I can't really say the products in the bag match the theme, but the bag definitely does! And here is my overview for the month! The first product is probably the thing I find most underwhelming, and it is the Marc Anthony Coconut Oil and Shea Butter hair oil.  I get hair oils from Ipsy all the time it seems like, and I always tell them I don't like them and not to send anymore, but whatever.  It isn't that this product is bad, I have some other things from this brand and it is good, but I just really don't need, want, or use hair oils. Next is the Tarte Lifted Sweatproof Mascara.  My first thought was how different tis packaging looks from most mascaras and how well this is going to stand out in stores!  It is bold and bright whereas most bottles are in blacks or darker c...

Ipsy: September

This is my September Ipsy Bag!  Apparently the theme was "Like a Boss," and I can really see that coming out in the black studded style of the bag.  I like that they are theming things a bit more these days! First, I received the individual eyeshadow pan from Elizabeth Mott Pop! cosmetics in the color Gunmetal.  I've been trying to flesh out my Z-palette recently so I pick it up to use more often, and this was a really nice addition (though sadly, it was not magnetized).  I used to be upset with individual pan eyeshadows, but now they are right up my ally!  This is a nice shimmery basic grey. This is the Lights Camera Lashes Mascara by Tarte.  This is actually one of the first products I've ever received from Ipsy that I already owned.  I keep one in my makeup collection at college and the other at home I love it so much.  Therefore, this obviously would have been a hit, if I didn't already own it!  But they had no way of knowing...

Ipsy: August

As far as past Ipsy bags go, this one was just so-so.  The products that were good were really good!  But then again, the products that weren't my favorite weren't awful either.  There was only one thing I'm just totally not going to use.  So those aren't bad odds! Isn't this an adorable bag?  They have been doing really well lately on their bags! I love the ombre, the glitter accent, and the tassel zipper was a really nice touch. These are Face Food masks.  I always prefer makeup to masks and skin care, but I'm not upset about these because they are cream instead of sheet masks, which I'm not into.  One is a strawberry yoghurt brightening mask and the other is kiwi yoghurt revitalizing mask.  They feel and smell exactly like flavored yogurt, which I think is honestly really cool!  The packaging is also super cute! This is the Aurora Pro Color Correcting Concealer in Pistachio.  I never did get into the whole color corr...

Glossybox: August (A Cautionary Tale)

So let's talk about Glossybox...  Originally I subscribed when they had a special, three months for $30.  I thought it would be a cheaper way to try something new and see how I liked it, and maybe spice up my content.  I was sadly disappointed.  I wouldn't reccomend Glossybox to anybody .  My subscription was supposed to start in July, but that box never came.  I contacted them about it, and it took a month to get a reply simply saying they would look into it and get back to me the next day.  I waited another week before emailing them again, and at this point I was very upset.  After demanding a reply, explanation, and my box which I had paid for, lo and behold I finally received a tracking number, as well as 100 very useless "Glossydots."   I began to understand that this is not an individual problem and there were many people who didn't receive their boxes and were not getting a reply from their customer service department.  Y...

Second Year Empties: Skincare, Makeup, and Body Products

I know I'm posting on a weird day, but it was a busy weekend and I didn't want to get off of my posting schedule again!  I have too much good content to deliver in the next few weeks to put it off again! Deodorant and Perfume You gotta have things to make you smell good! First on the left is the Tom's Naturally Dry deodorant.  I received this in my Amazon sample box, and it was interesting.  It smelled very strongly of baby powder, which wasn't bad, but then later I smelled like sweat and baby powder...  It didn't stop or cover the sweat, just mixed with it.  But I guess that is a result of it being a natural product? Second is the Suave 24 Hour Protection deodorant in Wild Cherry Blossom.  This is like my go to deodorant in whatever scent, it doesn't even matter.  Apparently I'm a fan of the chemicalized deodorants and I am not ashamed! The first perfume coming from the left is the Warm Vanilla Sugar scent from Bath and Body Wor...
