Ipsy: September

This is my September Ipsy Bag!  Apparently the theme was "Like a Boss," and I can really see that coming out in the black studded style of the bag.  I like that they are theming things a bit more these days!

First, I received the individual eyeshadow pan from Elizabeth Mott Pop! cosmetics in the color Gunmetal.  I've been trying to flesh out my Z-palette recently so I pick it up to use more often, and this was a really nice addition (though sadly, it was not magnetized).  I used to be upset with individual pan eyeshadows, but now they are right up my ally!  This is a nice shimmery basic grey.

This is the Lights Camera Lashes Mascara by Tarte.  This is actually one of the first products I've ever received from Ipsy that I already owned.  I keep one in my makeup collection at college and the other at home I love it so much.  Therefore, this obviously would have been a hit, if I didn't already own it!  But they had no way of knowing that.

This is the Rep Bio Fresh Face Mask.  As I've said before, I'm not into the whole sheet mask trend, so I'm always happy to get a cream mask instead.  This is made with calming herbs and as a very neutral smell.  It is nice and creamy and moisturizing, which my kin has really needed recently.  I have used it a few times now and it has been super enjoyable!

This is the Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance primer.  I was kinda turned off by this at first because I tend to have oily skin and I definitely don't want shimmer all over it!  But then on a whim I tried it along my cheekbones as a highlighter and it is BOMB!  With this you can get such a dramatic highlight for the nights you really want something extra.  Since I figured that little trick out I have fallen in love.

This is the Teeez Lipstick in Romantic Red.  I hadn't ever heard of this brand, which is always kind of disappointing to me because I subscribe to Ipsy for the high end products.  That said, I love this packaging, and this is a really nice matte red color.  I always tell them on the surveys that I am really into lipstick, so I can't blame them for sending me shades I may already own!

My Everyday/Travel Makeup Bag

So as I was putting together the list for makeup bag that I will have with me in the car when I go on my trip to the beach this summer, I decided that you might want to know exactly what's in there and why I bring them :) The first thing I going to show you is this awesome pallet I found in a discount makeup store: It is a "Sweet by Day, Sexy by Night" pallet. On one side it has a dark brown and a champagne shade eye shadow, a light and a dark shade of bronzer, a light and dark brown shade of lipgloss, and two small applicators. On the other it has a light shade of pink and an almost purple eye shadow, a light and dark shade of blush, a light and dark shade of pink lipgloss, and two small applicators. You can buy it at www.amazon.com/day-to-night for $5. I thought this was the most simple way to pack all that i would need! Next I'm going to show you the face products I am bringing: They are: The Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder The ELF Aloe Infus...

VoxBox: Tressemé Beauty-Full Volume

I know I don't usually post at 9 o'clock on Monday nights, but I wanted to go ahead and get this out to you all while I had time, because... I got another VoxBox! This one was the Tresemmé Reverse Your Routine box with a full sized shampoo and conditioner. This is a Volumizing system, and is reffered to as "Reverse Your Routine" because you conditioner before you shampoo... Weird right?  I have to say I was a little confused and skeptical at first. The concept is that when you put conditioner in your hair and rinse then residue is left on weighing down your hair.  My thoughts were that the residue left were the moisturizing properties and that you wouldn't want to rid yourself of all of them... It just seemed a little pointless. I have been using this combination periodically for a few weeks now, and surprisingly I actually really like it!  When I get out of the shower my hair does feel much lighter than usual.  Though it is hard to tell if I have...

Winter As a College Student

Let me just tell you, there isn't a thing in the world fun about a dorm room in the winter!  On the happen chance that yours is as old as mine (pre-1960s, thank you very much) you probably have radiators too, which personally, I have very little control over.  Even on the off setting they exude so much heat that the room is stifling!  And then you open the window and snow starts blowing in... Yay Appalachian Mountains! Let's just all agree that is quite a process.  So what is one to do to combat these cold (and getting colder!) temperatures? First, I've got two B's for you (mostly because I couldn't come up with a third...)  Blankets and Bedwarmers! Let's face it, dorm rooms are tiny and your bed is the focus of the majority of decor, as well as where you will be spending a large portion of your time (yay Netflix binges!) so you need to make sure it is super cozy! Personally, I have my sheets and comforter that I sleep under every night.  ...
