How to curl your hair.... with a sock!

Ok sweet new idea on how to curl you hair with no (or minimal) heat. You can curl your hair... with a sock. I know you are going to think that I am absolutely insane but it really does work. It reminds me of beach waves, which is a style I have been searching for lately. You need to try it, it really works!

Here are the  step by step instructions on how to make this work.
First take a sock (it can be one that is missing its pair, or that you just don't wear) and cut off the toe of the. Now roll the sock into a ring, depending on your hair's thickness you might need to roll more than one sock together.

Now put your dry hair into a high ponytail, as high on top of your head as you can get it. I flip my head over and gather the hair to put it up.  Secure the hair with a hair bow.

The next step is to spray just the hair in your ponytail with water. Generally I do this hairstyle after I take a shower at night and it saves a step. Also instead of spraying with water you can spray it with Beach Spray, (which you can get the recipe for on my blog by going to the link above) it gives it more texture and doubles as a hairspray too!  You do not want it to be wet so just spray it until it is damp, or if you are doing this after you get out of the shower let your hair dry some before putting it up into a bun. Remember you want it to dry overnight so if it is too wet it will not dry completely.

Now grab your rolled up sock and put your ponytail through the hole. Pull the sock straight up to the tip of your ponytail. With the hair that is sticking out spread it all the way around the sock evenly, and tuck the ends under.  Start rolling the sock down so your hair is being fed through the hole, then up and around the sock. Continue rolling until you reach the base of your ponytail
Now simply roll all of your hair onto the sock until you reach the base of your ponytail.  Try to keep the ponytail straight up while you roll so that the hair is taught.

When you are finished rolling the hair onto the sock you have a  bun on top of your head. There is no need to secure it with anything else.  It will stay put perfectly just the way it is. In the morning take down the bun and take out the hair bow. If it is still wet, flip over your head and blow dry the bottom (it prevents any friz from being as visible, and adds volume). I like to put spray on gel and curl definer in my hair to hold in the curls. Your hair might end up being kind of big, if you like it that way then your done! If your like me then you could take the front sections of your hair, pin them back with a hair claw, and then straighten your bangs. Simply Amazing!

Pinned back Like This!
I couldn't believe this idea when i saw it, but I have tried it for the past two days and it looks amazing. I hope you like it! :)

Review: Etsy Planner Stickers!

I decided back at the beginning of November to reach out to a few Etsy planner sticker shops in hopes that they would like to partner up with me for a review!  There were a few shops that truly stood out to me, which sent me stickers, and I have been truly enjoying using them!  Though the shops did send me these stickers for free, the opinions are completely my own. Lilly Top This sticker package was from Lilly Top.  She sent me five full sheets (from left to right): The New Year Party stickers , Spring stickers , Build a Tree Christmas stickers , Heart Check Marks in Solid Colors , and the Notebook Stickers with words .  She also sent me her small winter sampler with a ton of cute Christmas-y designs, and a small two sticker sample of more of the notebooks.  Overall, I have really enjoyed her stickers!  They have a nice matte look, so they are easy to write on.  I also noticed that if you are willing to pay a bit more, she will make certain s...

St. Ives Influenster VoxBox

Good news, I received another Influenster VoxBox!! This was a Holiday campaign following New Years, and was sponsored by St. Ives.  Now as always, I did receive these products for reviewing purposes, but all opinions are completely my own! Oatmeal Scrub and Mask If you are used to their ever popular Apricot Scrub, this is quite a different experience.  Where the Apricot Scrub has large abrasive pieces, the Oatmeal Scrub has smaller and gentler pieces, but significantly more of them.  This also has a much thicker and stickier consistency, with a smell that is reminiscent of sunscreen.  The way I chose to use this was as a mask.  I applied a generous amount to my face, rubbing in circular motions, making sure it was fully scrubbed and evenly covered.  The bottle recommends letting it soak in for 5-7 minutes.  After the lime elapsed, I put some water on my fingers and rewet the mask, scrubbing in circular motions once again, and then rinsed! ...

Book of the Month: January

Have you all ever heard of Book of the Month Club?  It is a subscription box unlike any other one I've seen!  Instead of makeup, food, or home goods like most boxes, you get to pick a book to have sent to you every month!  It is the perfect thing for bookworms like me! This subscription is only $16.99 per month, and you can choose to skip a month at any time if the five options they are offering do not appeal to you.  But here is the catch, today is the last day of their Galentine's sale they are offering through the blog My Subscription Addiction (love that place!).  So if you use the code MSABOOKLOVER you can get a three month subscription for only $29.97 (normally $44.97) along with a Book of the Moth tote bag and free credit for an extra book ($9.99 value)!  So you are getting four books for only about $30, which is less than you could get them in a bookstore, and are saving $25 over what you would pay for a normal subscription!  I highly ...
