SprezzaBox: September + Bonus Box!

You all may remember that I ordered a Sprezza box last year around this time of the year as a present for my boy.  If you want to see that box you can find it here!  I was amazed then, and then I ordered these and have been even more impressed!  These boxes are full of really nice quality products for men, and I love that there is a subscription company catering to the men in our lives and trying to make them dress better.
When I ordered they were doing a promotion, which was the current box and a past box for $20.  I'm not sure if it is still active, but I used the code "BONUSBOX20" so you all can give it a shot!

The September box theme was "The Perry" with classic patterns, but heavier fabrics and darker colors for fall.

This box included:
  • Bryt Dress Socks - $11.66
  • FRESHeTech Earbuds - $29.95
  • Peter Daniel Leather Bracelet - $10
  • Sprezza Pocket Square - $18
  • English Laundry Oxford Bleu Cologne - They said this small bottle was worth $20, but the full size 1.7 oz is $70.
  • Perry Ellis Necktie - $45
My favorites from this box for my man had to be the tie and the cologne.  The cologne smelled amazing, I really hope he likes it as much as I do!
I also like the leather bracelet, but more for me that a man.  I have been wearing that quite a bit recently because there is no chance any man in my life would wear that.
The earbuds were just kind ehh, neither great or bad.
My least favorites were the pocket square and socks.  I'm sure there are men that would enjoy those, but I have none in my life.

Total retail of these items (according to the card) - $134.61

The bonus box I received was "The Beekman" from July.  This was a very summery boat themed box for a very metro kind of man.

This box included:
  • Bedford & Broome Socks - $12
  • Dappered Man Leather Key Fob - $10
  • Ursa Major Face Wash - The card said this small bottle is $6, but full size retails for $12, so...
  • AusCufflinks - $24.95
  • Grand Frank Pocket Square - $16
  • Jack Sartori Necktie - $78
From this box I will probably only give my man the tie and socks, and maybe the face wash.  I love the socks though, they are too cute!
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what to do with the cufflinks and pocket square.  I don't know any men who own or wear boats... So theres that.
And as for the key fob, it is another item that is neither here nor there.  Its just ok.

Total retail of these items (according to the card) - $146.95

Overall both boxes had their high and low points, but I definitely liked the first one better than the second.  All in all I think these are nice presents, and I don't regret buying them; I'm even thinking about resubscribing to get the October box because it has a couple really great items!  If you have been on the fence then I say give it a shot!

Last Minute Present: Oven Mitt

This is a super easy (and cheap) present that someone who loves baking or cooking would adore!  I received this as a gift last year and I was so excited!  To top it all off, this present couldn't get any easier, and it could be made for under $10 but is very versatile and can be made as elaborate or simple as you want!   So the basics, you are going to need an oven mitt to put the whole present in, and then a few tools to solidify the cooking theme.  I know for a fact the mitt, as well as the tools below, came from Walmart and can be snagged super cheap. Then you need to fill it with candy and food!  In mine she added chocolate chip cookie mix, hot chocolate mix, and candy canes.  Super simple right?  And definitely something you could run to Walmart right now and put together.  Like I said before, there are many variations you could do with this present!  My mom has a wood burning tool and can burn designs into wooden...

Winter As a College Student

Let me just tell you, there isn't a thing in the world fun about a dorm room in the winter!  On the happen chance that yours is as old as mine (pre-1960s, thank you very much) you probably have radiators too, which personally, I have very little control over.  Even on the off setting they exude so much heat that the room is stifling!  And then you open the window and snow starts blowing in... Yay Appalachian Mountains! Let's just all agree that is quite a process.  So what is one to do to combat these cold (and getting colder!) temperatures? First, I've got two B's for you (mostly because I couldn't come up with a third...)  Blankets and Bedwarmers! Let's face it, dorm rooms are tiny and your bed is the focus of the majority of decor, as well as where you will be spending a large portion of your time (yay Netflix binges!) so you need to make sure it is super cozy! Personally, I have my sheets and comforter that I sleep under every night.  ...

Apartment Tour + Fall Decor!

It's coming a bit late, because by this point I have Christmas decor up, but why not?  It isn't December yet, and I loved my fall decor and wanted to show it off! Entrance and "Dining Room" We did our best to section off the living room/dining room/kitchen area so it had a house feel that trashy college apartment.  We also tried to add all the things we could to make it feel more bright and homey since only one piece of furniture in here is actually ours!  The rest was provided for us. So for the dining are my roommate who replaced her desk chair with a comfy version brought out her chair so we could have 5 seats.  We then added cute placemats which stay out year round For fall decor I added the glittery leaf centerpiece and a few candles, as well as the wine bottles! I painted these, and though they aren't my best I still liked them!  I used twine on the top, stickers from Target around the sides, and painters tape to make the letters, and th...
