Be Mine: A Variable Valentine's Day Date Idea

Have you ever heard of a Progressive Dinner? Well, neither had I before the other day when I realized I had to plan my boyfriend's birthday date! But, this can easily be for Valentine's day instead!

So I will just give you a play by play of my day...

I picked Maze up around two, and we drove to Boone, NC.  It is about an hour away from where we live, and is the home of Appalachian State University! It is a small town, but had just the amount of things we needed for this date.  On the way there, I gave him his first present, and this card...
He ended up choosing Appleebee's, and we went and totally confused our Waiter by only ordering Chips and Queso and nothing else!

After we finished, I thought we might need a break between courses, so I gave him his second present, and this card...

We were going to play putt putt, but apparently even if it is 60 degrees out putt putt is still closed in the winter! So instead we went to the movies.  When we got there we started checking out what they had, and American Sniper had just started! But, he had already seen it and didn't want to watch it again... :( So, being the amazing girlfriend I am, he chose the new Spongebob movie, and I took him -_-

After the Spongebob movie (we were the oldest ones in the theatre without kids...), I started driving towards Blowing Rock, which is the cutest little town near Boone, and I gave him the next present and card...
Woodlands is a BBQ and Mexican restaurant... odd combination, but it was pretty good! It was totally not a date and dressed-up kind of restaurant, which is why he praised me endlessly for taking him there!  We didn't make it to playing in the park and walking around town like I had hoped, but it was freezing! Instead, we took a drive around town.

Finally, it was time for dessert.  I gave him a box with all of the supplies we needed, his final present, and this card...
I brought a candle, matches, a skewer, and s'more ingredients, and we made s'mores in the car, sitting at an overlook on the parkway :) It was really sweet, and we had lot's of fun!

This date is totally and completely adaptable to whatever your needs might be.  If you are wanting to do it cheaper, hit up all of your favorite fast food restaurants, and instead of a movie, go to the park! Want to do it more expensive?  Make it a twelve course meal instead!
It might have seemed kind of odd to leave so early, but I didn't get back to my house until almost midnight, so it is a good idea.

If you need some outfit ideas, a "Kissable Lip Routine" or an idea of something to do with your friends in protest of the commercial holiday (my friends are going "Snipe Hunting" ;), check out my Be Mine tag here, ad have fun!

The Valentine's giveaway is still open until midnight tonight, and the winner will be announced next week!
Good luck, and Happy Valentine's Day!

Ipsy: March Throwback

First of all, this is one of the cuuuutest bag I've gotten in a while! This bag was probably about 50/50 on how I liked the actual products I received, but keep reading for a cool surprise in the end! This is the NYX Liquid Suede lipstick and I really enjoyed it! I was wary of this color when I first pulled it out, but after putting it on I found out that it was really pretty!!  It dries very matte, and lasts quite a while.  This is a really pretty eyeshadow, it is the brand Manna Kadar in the color Fantasy.  It is a pretty basic color and the packaging is kind of cheap, but it is a nice full size, so I'm not mad at it! I never wear my hair straight three days in a row... This is a nice product from Marc Anthony again, and it smells good, it just isn't something I will use often. This is the Pixie blush and highlighter duo in rose gold, and it was sooooo pretty!  And then it fell off my sink and instantly broke on the edge.  And then it ...

Popsugar: February

The February box is my last one from the three month subscription I received for Christmas, and though that is very sad, we went out with a bang!  I loved every single item in this box, which is an amazing feeling, and I have been so excited about using them all! First of all, can we notice how much cuter than normal this is?  Look at all of the crinkly stuff! This candy bar from Chuao Chocolatier is literally heaven in your mouth... It says it is a Cinnamon Cereal Smooch Chocolate Bar, so, Cinnamon Toast Crunch?  My favorite cereal??  I approve.  The retail on this says $6, but I saw this brand at Biltmore going for around $8, which seems a bit steep for chocolate to me... But I guess we are talking about fancy chocolate here! This is the Tribe Alive Foldover Clutch in the pattern Atitlán Brocade.  It is reversible, so if you fold it the opposite direction you basically have a brand new clutch, and it is gorgeous either way.  It is hand...

Degusta Box: October

I hadn't ever heard of this subscription box until I received an email about a promotion they were having.  This is a $19.99 subscription box, but they were offering a special discount for $6.99 plus two free gifts!  I figured, why not give it a try? It came in a HUGE heavy box!  Inside it was wrapped with a cute little sticker, and everything even moderately breakable was packaged in bubble wrap.  I was immediately impressed.   I thought I'd show the two sweet little extra gifts they sent me first... You can't tell as much in this picture, but this is a quite large bag of mini cow tales!  They also sent me a bag of Haribo sour gummy bears.  I am not a big Haribo fan, but these seem similar to Sour Patch Kids, which I love, so maybe they will be good!  I can't really complain too much anyway since they were a free gift with the box!  And candy! Perfect for Halloween. Now let's get into the actual products in th...
