Get Ready with Me: Prom Edition!

Yes it's been a month since I've written a post, I'm well aware, but I am coming back full force with one worth waiting for!! Who doesn't want to relive prom again, and this time you can relive it with me!

A little OOTD pre-prom edition.
The flannel shirt is from American Eagle
The shorts are Nike
The Hair and Makeup are nonexistent
The planner is my most favorite possession!

As you can see, I am putting my planner to good use.  I had planned the heck out of this weekend, mostly because I was so excited!! See all the little sticky note lists covering all other days besides prom?

Prom Festivities began that morning as I woke up at 8 a.m. (after staying up until 1 the night before prepping...) when I went to pick up Maze's boutonniere.

And then went to get my hair done!
This is what I saw when I came in and just had to share a picture of it! My best friend and I decided to get ready together, which meant taking turns getting out hair done, and then her coming back to my house to do makeup!

Snacking through the primping

Makeup!

And then Maze came :)

Giving him his boutonniere...

Getting my corsage...

Shoes!

Corsages!

With my Memaw :)

So, we had to take a redneck picture, just as a joke :)

Fixing each other and making funny faces, just like always :)

Playing Cinderella!

Let's go!

My neighbor, who is like my sister, just had a baby, so I had to go visit them at the hospital :)

They were all joking that this could be a teen pregnancy awareness or birth control ad!

Finally, it was time to meet up with my big group of friends.

In honor of our favorite Marine History Teacher!

Such a personality picture...

Let's go eat!

Before prom I went with a group of fourteen, I repeat fourteen, people to Outback in Johnson City, so we had to meet early.  It truly could not have been more perfect, we had so much fun!

I love how the actual time at prom is such a minor detail of the day.  Our prom theme this year was "Love You Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran... do you know how that can be a prom theme? Because I still don't! From what I can figure, there were lot's of flowers, so our theme was like English Countryside maybe? They had good intentions, but a low decoration budget. We had a lot of fun though, and were the last ones to leave during the last song!
Plus, my best friend was Prom Queen!!

After prom the same group from before prom, minus a few, went to my friend's camp up in the middle of NOWHERE to play paintball after prom.  Hear that? Paintball. In the dark. At 2 a.m. On the side of a mountain! In theory we thought it sounded really fun, the execution was a little fuzzy... We were just shooting through brush in the general area of glowsticks. Once most of us (besides Maze and my friend) ran out of ammo we had to regroup to get more.  But then decided we were bored with this and just unloaded on the two of them!  They weren't exactly happy...

After Paintball we all went back to the Bonfire to hang out.  About 4-5 a.m. everyone had slowly left or went to sleep leaving me and two of my friends.  It was then we made the horrid decision to stay up all night and watch the sunrise!  We spent the remainder of the night stoking the fire, avoiding the smoke and rain, talking out of our heads, and planning the next day!

We left my friend's camp around 7:30 in the morning to go home and sleep a couple of hours, before festivities began again!

The three of us slept like 4 hours, got up, and went to Linville Caverns with my boyfriend and his friend!

Overall, it was truly an amazing weekend, and I couldn't have asked for a better one :)

VoxBox: Tressemé Beauty-Full Volume

I know I don't usually post at 9 o'clock on Monday nights, but I wanted to go ahead and get this out to you all while I had time, because... I got another VoxBox! This one was the Tresemmé Reverse Your Routine box with a full sized shampoo and conditioner. This is a Volumizing system, and is reffered to as "Reverse Your Routine" because you conditioner before you shampoo... Weird right?  I have to say I was a little confused and skeptical at first. The concept is that when you put conditioner in your hair and rinse then residue is left on weighing down your hair.  My thoughts were that the residue left were the moisturizing properties and that you wouldn't want to rid yourself of all of them... It just seemed a little pointless. I have been using this combination periodically for a few weeks now, and surprisingly I actually really like it!  When I get out of the shower my hair does feel much lighter than usual.  Though it is hard to tell if I have...

Ipsy: June

My June Ipsy bag!   Probably my least favorite part of this bag... was the actual bag.  It's quite ugly, but the products are good for the most part! This Be a Bombshell lipgloss in Secret is ok… It’s a nice brand, so I’m not mad at it, it just isn't my favorite.  I put it on and it had almost a concealer like tint instead of the pretty pinky nude in the tube.  I have used it since and if used with a lighter hand, it's ok. I love this Formula X nail polish by Sephora in Wingwoman!  It is such a nice dark pink/red color, and it didn't chip!  Do you know how hard it is to find a nail polish that doest chip on me? This Three Tone "Bronzer" by Crown Brush is ridiculous... It looks like little kids play makeup.  It has a strip of bronze, a strip of pink, and one of a "highlight," and as soon as I took it out of he box the packaging fell apart.  I didn't even bother trying it, I just listed it on a swap website. But t...

Apple Pie Cupcakes!

I recomend to read this recipe all the way through before beginning to bake. I multi-task, but you need to find the order that works the best for you!  I will explain how I assemble and decorate them at the end! Cinnamon Cupcakes Ingredients: 1 cup milk 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature 2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt 4 large eggs 1 3/4 cups sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line muffin tins with cupcake liners. Heat milk and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until the butter melts. Remove from heat. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Using a  mixer with a whisk attachment, beat the eggs and sugar until thick ribbons form (about 5 minutes).  Add the flour mixture and beat on low just until incorporated. Don't over mix!  Add milk mixture and va...
