Get Ready with Me: Prom Edition!

Yes it's been a month since I've written a post, I'm well aware, but I am coming back full force with one worth waiting for!! Who doesn't want to relive prom again, and this time you can relive it with me!

A little OOTD pre-prom edition.
The flannel shirt is from American Eagle
The shorts are Nike
The Hair and Makeup are nonexistent
The planner is my most favorite possession!

As you can see, I am putting my planner to good use.  I had planned the heck out of this weekend, mostly because I was so excited!! See all the little sticky note lists covering all other days besides prom?

Prom Festivities began that morning as I woke up at 8 a.m. (after staying up until 1 the night before prepping...) when I went to pick up Maze's boutonniere.

And then went to get my hair done!
This is what I saw when I came in and just had to share a picture of it! My best friend and I decided to get ready together, which meant taking turns getting out hair done, and then her coming back to my house to do makeup!

Snacking through the primping

Makeup!

And then Maze came :)

Giving him his boutonniere...

Getting my corsage...

Shoes!

Corsages!

With my Memaw :)

So, we had to take a redneck picture, just as a joke :)

Fixing each other and making funny faces, just like always :)

Playing Cinderella!

Let's go!

My neighbor, who is like my sister, just had a baby, so I had to go visit them at the hospital :)

They were all joking that this could be a teen pregnancy awareness or birth control ad!

Finally, it was time to meet up with my big group of friends.

In honor of our favorite Marine History Teacher!

Such a personality picture...

Let's go eat!

Before prom I went with a group of fourteen, I repeat fourteen, people to Outback in Johnson City, so we had to meet early.  It truly could not have been more perfect, we had so much fun!

I love how the actual time at prom is such a minor detail of the day.  Our prom theme this year was "Love You Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran... do you know how that can be a prom theme? Because I still don't! From what I can figure, there were lot's of flowers, so our theme was like English Countryside maybe? They had good intentions, but a low decoration budget. We had a lot of fun though, and were the last ones to leave during the last song!
Plus, my best friend was Prom Queen!!

After prom the same group from before prom, minus a few, went to my friend's camp up in the middle of NOWHERE to play paintball after prom.  Hear that? Paintball. In the dark. At 2 a.m. On the side of a mountain! In theory we thought it sounded really fun, the execution was a little fuzzy... We were just shooting through brush in the general area of glowsticks. Once most of us (besides Maze and my friend) ran out of ammo we had to regroup to get more.  But then decided we were bored with this and just unloaded on the two of them!  They weren't exactly happy...

After Paintball we all went back to the Bonfire to hang out.  About 4-5 a.m. everyone had slowly left or went to sleep leaving me and two of my friends.  It was then we made the horrid decision to stay up all night and watch the sunrise!  We spent the remainder of the night stoking the fire, avoiding the smoke and rain, talking out of our heads, and planning the next day!

We left my friend's camp around 7:30 in the morning to go home and sleep a couple of hours, before festivities began again!

The three of us slept like 4 hours, got up, and went to Linville Caverns with my boyfriend and his friend!

Overall, it was truly an amazing weekend, and I couldn't have asked for a better one :)

Blueberry Crush Sangria

I'm considering a new series on this blog... How would you all feel about wine Wednesdays?  Not every Wednesday of course, but just to mix things up sometimes!  Most all of the drinks I make end up being something I concoct from various ideas and recipes I see online, and then add wine to it, and voilĂ , wine punch!  And I see a distinct lack of wine punch or creative sangria recipes on Pinterest, so look no further; I'm coming to the rescue! I made this drink recently for a party in which the color theme was purple, so of course we had to have a purple drink!  It was met with much praise, and I highly suggest giving it a try!  It is a very sweet drink, but can be toned down based on your preferences.  It would be the perfect way to bring in Spring!  (If it is actually Spring where you live, we just pretend here, it is still snowing) Ingredients Blueberry syrup: Bag of frozen blueberries (minus 1/3 cup.) 1 cup sugar 3 cups water ...

Mail Time: TheECPlannerKitLady Sticker Haul

So apparently Halloween was mail day for me!  I checked my mailbox that morning after class and found a few fun things, and then later I got a notification that a package had been delivered, so why not check again?  I found my package and another letter!  It hadn't been such a great weekend, so finding all of the fun things waiting for me on Monday perked me right up! I got three cards, one from my mom, my mom's coworker, and my grandmother!  I thought it was fun that all three had puppies. My mother also sent me a huge box of Halloween goodies!  Candy, tattoos, donuts, fake bugs, all kinds of fun stuff! But now on to the true meat of this post, I recently placed two orders with  TheECPlannerKitLady  on Etsy!  I know two is a bit excessive, but first she had a sale, and then she offered a discounted grab bag, both just for members of her Facebook group !  Planner stickers can be very expensive, so I jump at opportunities to...

Love With Food: March Throwback

So you all might remember at the beginning of the year last year I tried out a few free and discounted food subscription boxes, one of which was the Love With Food Box! It is regularly $9.99 per month for a monthly subscription, which I think is a bit much...  But on Leap Day in February they had a special running for $17.98 for a three month subscription, which is about $9 cheaper than the regular 3 month subscription, and works out to about $6 per month!  I'll but into that! I know I'm super late with this one... But I wanted to post it anyway! These Lemon Wafer Bites by Dolcetto were the first thing my mom took and said "Let's try these!"  They were little wafers filled with lemon creme, and were so tasty!  Probably my favorite out of this box... My dad was the one who pulled this Fig Bar by Nature's Bakery out and said he loved these, but neither of us had tried or heard of the strawberry flavor.  Unlike with my mom, I kept this one and at...
