Dirty Myrtle 2017: Days 2 and 3

Day 2

8:55
Good morning ladies!

I'm awake, my air is kinky and gross, my clothes don't really match, and I honestly don't really care because I'm taking a walk to go get doughnuts for breakfast!

I have honestly never been to Dunkin Donuts, and would choose Kristy Kreme with their icing waterfall any day, buuuuuut I want doughnuts and these are only a 5 minute walk away.  I don't have  these kind of lovely opportunities at home…

10:00
Kaitlyn was happy with my little surprise this morning😄

11:20
We made it to the beach! After a breakfast of super healthy doughnuts we sunscreened up and made the trek to the ocean!

4:00
It's been a while since I checked in, but we truly haven't done that much today!

We went in around 1:00 for lunch and cooked some yummy pasta salad with veggies.

And then around 3ish we came back out to the beach! It's been very windy this evening, I can't even wear my sunglasses for the salt coating everything!

5:15
We snuck into another hotel's pool… Shh, don't tell anybody!

6:30

Just put dinner in the oven! We are making pork loin with apples and onions, and rice!

I cut my finger though...

But dinner was still great!!

Day 3
9:05
Good morning lovelies! Apparently I forgot to say goodnight last night... But this morning is being kicked off with a bang, we have a reservation at Croissants Bakery and Bistro for brunch and then massages at 12:00!

11:30
We finished brunch and it was AH-MAZING!

I mean come on, just look at these cute little muffins!

We had shrimp and pimento cheese grits with fried green tomatoes and andouille sausage, banana Nutella crepes, and cheesy hash browns! I honestly don't usually like most of the things I listed, but they did them so well I may have changed my mind!

They also had this insane desert case, where we got a cupcake and macaroons to take with us!

Come on, could we BE any more "trendy"?

Now we are on our way to have massages at The Lazy Daisy Spa!

1:35
Just left the Spa and our massages were soooo good… I'm ready to go back and get another, it was just too great. And the Spa was too cute!

I mean, look at this!

Look at our excitement!

I got to be in the "Mermaid Room"!

It was just honestly too perfect...

4:05
Made it back to the condo! After massages we did a little shopping at Target, Ross, and TJ-Maxx. We thought we might go on the beach today, but it is starting to look like rain, so we might just hang out here.

9:20
Well I haven't updated in a while, but we haven't done a whole lot to tell the truth!

We ended up taking a walk on the beach and getting in the pool for a bit after we got back.

Look how cute we are??

After that, we came back up and cooked and awesome dinner of teriyaki stir fry...
...and then went back to the pool with our strawberry slushies!

10:30
We'd never make it as party girls… we are already wiped out! Goodnight everyone!

Winter As a College Student

Let me just tell you, there isn't a thing in the world fun about a dorm room in the winter!  On the happen chance that yours is as old as mine (pre-1960s, thank you very much) you probably have radiators too, which personally, I have very little control over.  Even on the off setting they exude so much heat that the room is stifling!  And then you open the window and snow starts blowing in... Yay Appalachian Mountains! Let's just all agree that is quite a process.  So what is one to do to combat these cold (and getting colder!) temperatures? First, I've got two B's for you (mostly because I couldn't come up with a third...)  Blankets and Bedwarmers! Let's face it, dorm rooms are tiny and your bed is the focus of the majority of decor, as well as where you will be spending a large portion of your time (yay Netflix binges!) so you need to make sure it is super cozy! Personally, I have my sheets and comforter that I sleep under every night.  ...

Ipsy: June

My June Ipsy bag!   Probably my least favorite part of this bag... was the actual bag.  It's quite ugly, but the products are good for the most part! This Be a Bombshell lipgloss in Secret is ok… It’s a nice brand, so I’m not mad at it, it just isn't my favorite.  I put it on and it had almost a concealer like tint instead of the pretty pinky nude in the tube.  I have used it since and if used with a lighter hand, it's ok. I love this Formula X nail polish by Sephora in Wingwoman!  It is such a nice dark pink/red color, and it didn't chip!  Do you know how hard it is to find a nail polish that doest chip on me? This Three Tone "Bronzer" by Crown Brush is ridiculous... It looks like little kids play makeup.  It has a strip of bronze, a strip of pink, and one of a "highlight," and as soon as I took it out of he box the packaging fell apart.  I didn't even bother trying it, I just listed it on a swap website. But t...

Last Minute Present: Oven Mitt

This is a super easy (and cheap) present that someone who loves baking or cooking would adore!  I received this as a gift last year and I was so excited!  To top it all off, this present couldn't get any easier, and it could be made for under $10 but is very versatile and can be made as elaborate or simple as you want!   So the basics, you are going to need an oven mitt to put the whole present in, and then a few tools to solidify the cooking theme.  I know for a fact the mitt, as well as the tools below, came from Walmart and can be snagged super cheap. Then you need to fill it with candy and food!  In mine she added chocolate chip cookie mix, hot chocolate mix, and candy canes.  Super simple right?  And definitely something you could run to Walmart right now and put together.  Like I said before, there are many variations you could do with this present!  My mom has a wood burning tool and can burn designs into wooden...
