Be Mine... Kissable Lip Routine

I thought this was a kind of unique post, but also a great way to kick off Beach Babe's Be Maine Valentine's Day Series! I mean, you can't have a Valentines Day without soft kissable lips! Even if you don't have a Valentine this year, you don't want to be caught by surprise! ;) First thing i do (and the very first thing you all should do!) is start out by exfoliating your lips! Before I use a Lip Scrub, I run warm water over a washcloth, wring it out, and rub my lips with this. Next I take a lip scrub (if you would like to know what I use check out this link here, but any kind you prefer will work). I use the washcloth on my lips first so that they will be more open to absorb the benefits of the Scrub. Lastly, I apply some of the lip scrub to a clean toothbrush and use this on my lips. Grab the washcloth once again and wipe the scrub and crystals away! :) The next thing you should do in your kissable lips routine, is apply a lip balm. My favorites are the eos

Homemade Beauty... Beach Babe's Lip Scrub

Ok I have posted a few different types of scrubs, but this time I am posting about my personal scrub that I use about once a week and am in love with! You will need: Sugar Honey Olive Oil The amounts differ depending on the amount you wish to make. You are trying to get it to a thick consistency, but not so thick that you are unable to spread it on your lips. Also, remember to mix it together again before each use, since the olive oil tends to separate.  I hope you like it as much as I do!! :)

Homemade Beauty... Cuticle Cream

This all-natural cuticle cream moisturizes, strengthens, and softens the skin around your nails. As an added bonus this recipe can also be used as a lip balm!  You Will Need: 1 tin to store cuticle cream in 1.5 Ounces of beeswax 3 Ounces of carrier oil 1 Tablespoon of honey Instructions:   1. Melt beeswax and carrier oil together in the microwave. 2. After the wax mixture is melted, add the honey. 3. Pour into tin and let sit at room temperature until hardened.  You can find beeswax at any craft store (such as Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or AC Moore) and carrier oils can be found for a good price at any health food store. Apricot, almond, and grapeseed oil are all good options and widely available. Credit to:   http://www.seventeen.com/beauty/tips/diy-beauty-treatments#slide-6

My Everyday/Travel Makeup Bag

So as I was putting together the list for makeup bag that I will have with me in the car when I go on my trip to the beach this summer, I decided that you might want to know exactly what's in there and why I bring them :) The first thing I going to show you is this awesome pallet I found in a discount makeup store: It is a "Sweet by Day, Sexy by Night" pallet. On one side it has a dark brown and a champagne shade eye shadow, a light and a dark shade of bronzer, a light and dark brown shade of lipgloss, and two small applicators. On the other it has a light shade of pink and an almost purple eye shadow, a light and dark shade of blush, a light and dark shade of pink lipgloss, and two small applicators. You can buy it at www.amazon.com/day-to-night for $5. I thought this was the most simple way to pack all that i would need! Next I'm going to show you the face products I am bringing: They are: The Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder The ELF Aloe Infus

Homemade Beauty... De-Puff Tired Eyes

Have you ever tried Green tea before? Personally I am not a huge fan, but it can be a great way to decrease puffiness around your eyes! Buy the iced tea version, mix up a batch, and to stick it in the fridge. After it has chilled, soak a couple of cotton rounds in the tea and lay them on your eyes. The caffeine helps to shrink the appearance of the blood vessels, and the antioxidants help eliminate inflammation.  Another great option to de-puff your eyes are slices of raw potato. Just peel, slice, and chill them before applying to the eye area. The potato acts as a natural astringent and will take down the swelling! :) Credit to:   http://www.seventeen.com/beauty/tips/diy-beauty-treatments#slide-1

Packing Do's and Don'ts

If you're like most girls, you probably over pack for EVERYTHING!  "This summer, stick to the 50-percent packing method. So pack your suitcase once, take every thing out, pick half of all that stuff and re-pack. Seriously. Brilliant, right?" Ummm... No. I saw this on another website and I was like "Seriously???" You can bet that if I take the time to pick out clothes, set up outfits, and pack them in my suitcase, I AM NOT taking it all back out again!! So since we have officially ruled out that packing method, how about we discuss some other ways to save space and avoid overpacking! :) DO: 1. Check the calendar. If you're just going away for a weekend, you don't ten shirts, three skirts, two pairs of shorts, five pairs of jeans, and 500000000000000000..... pairs of shoes just because you might  need them. You won't. For short trips, put together outfits in your mind that you love and you know you will wear. For longer trips, pack

Homemade Beauty... Banana Sugar Body Scrub

You will need... 1 ripe banana 3 tablespoons granulated sugar ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract or your favorite essential oil (optional) Smash ingredients together with a fork into a chunky goop, but don't over-mash or it will become too thin to use. If you want a banana scrub for your face, reserve some of the banana and mash it separately without sugar. In the shower, pat the sugar mixture and gently massage over your body. For your face, gently massage plain banana there, avoiding the eye area. Rinse off with warm water. Credit to  http://www.treehugger.com/organic-beauty/8-homemade-salt-and-sugar-body-scrubs.html
