Christmas Decorations

I decorated my dorm prior to Thanksgiving so we would be able to have the decorations up for quite a while before going home.  My classes ended the first week in December, so there wouldn't have been a point to decorating after!  After coming home for Christmas break I simply decorated my room at home with the decorations I had at school, so I thought it would be fun to show you both!

Dorm
This is where all of the main decorations in the room were.  We already had the lights up so we simply hung icicles and a bow from them.  We placed clings on the window the said "Let it Snow."  On the windowsill we sat my fiberoptic tree in the middle, and then added little knick knacks all around, which you can't see well because of the weird lighting... I swear I didn't take this in a dark room, but the combination of backlighting from outside, the string lights, and the tree, it all just messed with my camera.

Here closer up picture of the tree and the things around it.  I have had all of these things for so long there is no way I could tell you where it all came from... The pinecones are from Michael's though!

This is my bed, which isn't too terribly different than when you last saw it.  I flipped the comforter so it would be solid grey and then added a cute little snowman, but that's it!  But since I took this picture things have changed a lot... I added another picture line in the corner, added groupings of pictures all over the wall, and my best friend's mom made me a couple of new pillows for my bed!  I'll post an updated picture after break.

This cute little snowman is pretty much the only other decoration in our room!  Aside from a bell wreath I hung on our door which isn't pictured.

Bedroom
This is the main area of decorations in my bedroom at home.  Like I said, I brought all of my dorm decor back home, so there will be a lot of repeats!  I put my tree in front of the window on my little side table, put winter-y stuffed animals in my chair, hung snowflake window clings, tied the bow to my lamp, and decorated my bookcase!

This is the main cute area on my bookcase!  The little wooden box in from Target's dollar section and says "North Pole Express." In the box I put my little snowman (which is a Webkinz back from when those were cool) , snowflake beads, and some Christmas books.

Here is my tree again, still surrounded by cute little knick knacks.

And then there is this little arrangement that I love!  The tray and tree are from Target's dollar section as well, the plate is from Walmart, and the bottle is from Dollar General.  If you look closely at the ornament in the lower left corner you can see mine and my boyfriend's names!  He bought it for my this year and I think it is super cute.
Other than what is shown here there are just more small items sitting around, and a lot of stuffed animals!  Of course the rest of my house is decorated more elaborately, so I might as well give you a small peek at that!

This is out tree with all of our homemade ornaments or the ones that don't match the main tree.  If you look closely you can see a little village underneath!

This is our tree in the breakfast nook which is decorated with cookie cutter and cinnamon sticks and things like that.  You can also see my beautiful decorated table in front!

Another table I decorated that I am quite proud of.  Yes, I am basically a 40 year old woman even though I am 20...

And then our main tree in the living room with presents wrapped and ready underneath!

During this stressful holiday season I pray that each of your coming days will be filled with love for those around you, joy in the festivities, and knowledge of the true meaning of this wonderful day.  Thank you for visiting, and I hope you all have a blessed and wonderful Christmas!

Ipsy: June

My June Ipsy bag!   Probably my least favorite part of this bag... was the actual bag.  It's quite ugly, but the products are good for the most part! This Be a Bombshell lipgloss in Secret is ok… It’s a nice brand, so I’m not mad at it, it just isn't my favorite.  I put it on and it had almost a concealer like tint instead of the pretty pinky nude in the tube.  I have used it since and if used with a lighter hand, it's ok. I love this Formula X nail polish by Sephora in Wingwoman!  It is such a nice dark pink/red color, and it didn't chip!  Do you know how hard it is to find a nail polish that doest chip on me? This Three Tone "Bronzer" by Crown Brush is ridiculous... It looks like little kids play makeup.  It has a strip of bronze, a strip of pink, and one of a "highlight," and as soon as I took it out of he box the packaging fell apart.  I didn't even bother trying it, I just listed it on a swap website. But t

Homecoming VoxBox

I was so happy to have received another awesome box of free stuff in the mail!! I love getting mail... Especially packages! This is called the "Homecoming VoxBox" I'm assuming this means it contains things such as school essentials, and things to make yourself look super cute for Homecoming court and Homecoming dances!   Oh, and food, what High Schooler doesn't love food. I'll start out with the given product description, and then give my personal opinion... "Luden’s throat drops offer deliciously soothing relief of irritated throats. Enjoy 4 new flavors: WATERMELON, Strawberry-Banana, Blue Raspberry, and Green Apple." I am not the type of person who reachers for cough drops every time they get sick, because I think they are disgusting, but apparently these taste like candy!  So Watermelon for the win! "Red Vines candy is the deliciously rewarding treat that has been making special moments even sweeter for generat

DIY Melted Crayon Ornaments!

Supplies: Clear Glass Balls (mini or large!) Broken Crayons Knife or Vegetable Peeler Hairdryer Paper Plate Directions: Peel any paper off of the crayon, and begin to shave wax curls from the side of the crayon.  You can do this by pressing and sliding the knife or peeler along the crayon as you would chocolate while baking.  Make sure the curls fall onto the paper plate! Remove the top metal piece of the glass ornament.  Bend the plate to make a spout and pour the curls into the ornament.  I like to fill mine about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way full, but it is totally up to you to decide how full you would like the sides of the ornament to look! Reinsert the metal piece in the top of the ornament.  With the hairdryer on low to medium speed, begin to heat up the ornament.  Shake and rotate periodically to fully coat the inside.  Be careful, it gets very hot! Place a hook on the ring, hang on the tree, and thank me later!
