Present DIY: Mugcake

So I understand that this is staged fall instead of Christmas, but I made this and took the pictures before my anniversary in October! Sadly, very few people have holidays in October, so I decided to hold on to the pictures until Christmas when it could actually be useful!

Aaaaanyway, this is my version of an easy double chocolate mug cake!  This is an easy present you could make for someone in no time for under $5.  If you gave them this and a nice mug that would be an awesome present!

What you will need:
  • Angel Food Cake Mix
  • Devil's Food Cake Mix (Or any flavor really! This is up to you as long as you have the Angel Food in there)
  • Chocolate Chips (Optional)
  • Pretty Container

From this point it's pretty easy!  Just mix a full box of angel food with a full box of devil's food, add as many chocolate chips as you want, and you are done!  Because this isn't a super dense cake, the chocolate chips will fall to the bottom giving it a chocolate lava cake kind of consistency; if you don't want that then leave them out!

Now you need to package it!  I bought this plastic clear container at the Dollar Tree, it doesn't get much easier than that!  A mason jar would also be super cute.  After putting it in something you can decorate it as much or as little as you want.  I added a little bit of red sparkly washi tape, and a chalkboard label on the front with the name and on the back with the directions.

Now, about the directions.  To get the perfect consistency you have to mix it a certain way, and it doesn't get much more simple than this...

Directions:
3 Tbsp of Mix
2 Tbsp of Water
1 Minute in the Microwave

And that is it!  Super simple right?

Now let's talk a minute, I am home for Christmas break for almost a month and a half!  So, hopefully during that time I am going to return to posting on both Saturday and Wednesday for fun!  Also, after Christmas I plan to FINALLY get up my Disney blogs for a little bit of summer fun in the winter!  Even though most of the writing is done, putting together something like that is a huge time commitment, and that is time I just don't have during the semester, so I thought during winter break would be the perfect time!  So in the the next month you can look forward to hauls, present ideas, maybe something birthday related, Disney, and of course more subscription boxes!
Hope you all enjoy!

Ipsy: June

My June Ipsy bag!   Probably my least favorite part of this bag... was the actual bag.  It's quite ugly, but the products are good for the most part! This Be a Bombshell lipgloss in Secret is ok… It’s a nice brand, so I’m not mad at it, it just isn't my favorite.  I put it on and it had almost a concealer like tint instead of the pretty pinky nude in the tube.  I have used it since and if used with a lighter hand, it's ok. I love this Formula X nail polish by Sephora in Wingwoman!  It is such a nice dark pink/red color, and it didn't chip!  Do you know how hard it is to find a nail polish that doest chip on me? This Three Tone "Bronzer" by Crown Brush is ridiculous... It looks like little kids play makeup.  It has a strip of bronze, a strip of pink, and one of a "highlight," and as soon as I took it out of he box the packaging fell apart.  I didn't even bother trying it, I just listed it on a swap website. But t

Homecoming VoxBox

I was so happy to have received another awesome box of free stuff in the mail!! I love getting mail... Especially packages! This is called the "Homecoming VoxBox" I'm assuming this means it contains things such as school essentials, and things to make yourself look super cute for Homecoming court and Homecoming dances!   Oh, and food, what High Schooler doesn't love food. I'll start out with the given product description, and then give my personal opinion... "Luden’s throat drops offer deliciously soothing relief of irritated throats. Enjoy 4 new flavors: WATERMELON, Strawberry-Banana, Blue Raspberry, and Green Apple." I am not the type of person who reachers for cough drops every time they get sick, because I think they are disgusting, but apparently these taste like candy!  So Watermelon for the win! "Red Vines candy is the deliciously rewarding treat that has been making special moments even sweeter for generat

DIY Melted Crayon Ornaments!

Supplies: Clear Glass Balls (mini or large!) Broken Crayons Knife or Vegetable Peeler Hairdryer Paper Plate Directions: Peel any paper off of the crayon, and begin to shave wax curls from the side of the crayon.  You can do this by pressing and sliding the knife or peeler along the crayon as you would chocolate while baking.  Make sure the curls fall onto the paper plate! Remove the top metal piece of the glass ornament.  Bend the plate to make a spout and pour the curls into the ornament.  I like to fill mine about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way full, but it is totally up to you to decide how full you would like the sides of the ornament to look! Reinsert the metal piece in the top of the ornament.  With the hairdryer on low to medium speed, begin to heat up the ornament.  Shake and rotate periodically to fully coat the inside.  Be careful, it gets very hot! Place a hook on the ring, hang on the tree, and thank me later!
