Marc Jacobs Beauty

So last year I was lucky enough to receive a Marc Jacobs Beauty VoxBox from Influenster!  I was by far more excited about this VoxBox than any other I had yet to receive.  But... I got lazy, and even though I took the pictures, I never ended up making a full post about it.  Well, flash forward to 2019 and guess what I get a notification about?  I am going to be getting ANOTHER VoxBox from Marc Jacobs Beauty!  I was ecstatic.  And this time, I was determined to let you all know about it.  But while we're here, why not show off what I got last year as well!

So this is how the boxes come packaged.  Black box, black packaging, black paper, all very dark and sleek.  This lipstick claims to be 16 hour long wear with a liquid matte feel in a crayon.  I don't agree with that statement completely, but it does have a very nice creamy feel and last as long as would be typical for a crayon.

I received the shades Night Mauves, which is on top, and Send Nudes, which is below it. The website says that "each shade has a precise dose of innovative 'ghost pearl' in a complementary or contrast tint to give lips added dimension."  I have never heard of ghost pearl, but you can see the difference in the complementary and contrasting pearl additions, because on the lips the lighter color appears much more shimmery than the darker.

This is the remainder of the shade range in the line.  The ones I received are the farthest two to the left.  They appear very similar on the website and on the packaging, but once applied there is a noticeable difference.  They are $32 each, and though they only have three stars from three reviews on their website, but I wholeheartedly disagree with that!

Now stick concealers have never been my favorite, but this one might just change my mind!  It is very creamy and easy to blend over blemishes.  It is not as full coverage as I am used to with my liquid concealers, but it does have a nice finish.  I would definitely reccomend this for blemishes instead of the under eye area though.  When I tried it under my eyes I noticed it had a tendency to settle into lines.
As far as shade ranges go, this is definitely not the most extensive.  The difference in undertones is very noticeable in the lighter shades, which is nice, but there are not nearly enough deeper shades to fully accommodate the market.  This concealer works for me, but it won't work for everyone.

I received the shade Fair 16, which looks a bit to light a yellow toned in the picture, but on the face it blends out really nicely.  Overall, I really like it!  I will probably still keep my old concealer in rotation because it is more full coverage, but I will be using this one for smaller or lighter blemishes.

Thank you again Influenster for both of these boxes!  Even though they were a year apart, I still wanted to share with you the fun I have had trying out these new products!  10/10 would reccomend, both Influenster, and Marc Jacobs.  If you have any interest in signing up for Influenster so you can also receive free products to try you can sign up here!

Ipsy: June

So guys... I resubscribed to Ipsy!  Since I was back to having a summer job I figured I could spare $10 a month!  And so far, this bag wasn't the best, but I updated my profile so it will take a minute for them to readapt. The bag this month though... It is on my swap site on MySubscriptionAddiction if you want it!  Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. This is the Kokie nail polish in the color Gone Rio.  I hadn't ever heard of this brand before, but the packaging is adorable!  Apparently you can buy it at Walmart for around $5.  The color is a really nice orange-y coral and it has a decent lasting power considering how rough I am on my nails!  Overall I liked it and I would buy from this brand again. This is the City Color Shimmer Shadow in the color Cheers to Life.  It is a pretty basic sandy brown with a ton of shimmer, obviously!  City Color isn't my favorite brand to get because it is fairly cheap and the products are ki...

Spring Break 2016

Well I just finished an extremely short Spring Break... I was only given two days last week! Isn't that sad?  But hey, I had the most of it! I started out Spring Break (on Wednesday night) with a bonfire for my friend's birthday!  We have the perfect bonfire spot beside a river, and in the river lives otters!  It was too dark to see them that night, but they are my favorite animal, and I am looking foreward to many Summer bonfires with our otter friends!  I have never really been into the whole eno hammock thing, but my friend brought a double so I though, why not??  It was surprisingly comfortable, and we had a lot of fun celebrating her birthday together! But now the main event of Spring Break... On Thursday Maze (my boyfriend) and I went to a Flogging Molly concert in Charlotte!   But first I made him take me to South Park Mall, because it looked insane!!  And it was, though it took longer to get to Charlotte than we thought it wo...

DIY Bath Fizz

Personally, I love the little Bath Fizzes you can buy, they are just so much fun!! How fun would it Be to be able to make you own! Tools and Materials Baking soda Cornstarch Citric acid Spritzer bottles Food coloring Glass bowl Essential oil Baking molds How-To: 1. Sift 1 3/4 cup baking soda, 1 cup citric acid, and 2 cups cornstarch through a sieve to remove all of the chunks. To make different colors, fill small spritzer bottles with water and add about 6 drops of food coloring to each.  2. Pour 1 cup of the powdered mixture into a bowl. Lightly spray, stirring after each spritz, until powder is your desired color. Next, add water slowly, so mixture does not fizz. Check the consistency of powder with your fingers; when it can be tightly packed or shaped like sand, stop adding water (this may take a little while). 3. Select an essential oil. Add 5 drops if it's one of the stronger scents (peppermint or lavender), and 6 if it's a weaker one (lemon or grapefr...
