December Date Box

Datebox is a subscription for primarily married couples, but it works for anyone with a significant other!  The point, is to get married couples to sit down once a moth, and have a date night to themselves.
I had never heard of this subscription box before, until I was scrolling through my Instagram feed one day and saw someone promoting it, with a promo code!
You all know how I can't resist good deals...
This box is normally about $35 per month, plus $5 shipping... That is expensive.
But I paid only the shipping! And that makes it fun!

So as you could probably guess, this month was Christmas themed...

Here is the look at the inside, and let it be known that I cleared out an abundance of bubblewrap before taking the picture, so it was well packaged!

The first thing I pulled out was these two mugs that say "Baby it's cold outside" and "I've got your love to keep me warm," so sweet!

And then they sent hot chocolate to go in them!

I was super excited about the main gift though... Maze and I had just been looking at one of these in a store last weekend, and talking about how we hadn't built a gingerbread house since we were kids.
And then Ta Da! This appeared

It even came with tons of candy and icing to put it together with!

They also sent a card with the url to a Christmas Playlist you have access to, as well as information about the Gingerbread House contest they are having! With the grand prize being a trip to Maui!
So if you love me, head over to my Instagram (www.instagram.com/bethanyallen15) tonight and like our Gingerbread House, because the contest is based on likes!

So would I have paid $40 for this?  Not a chance, but I am really really excited about it for $5! I understand their prices have to be higher than some boxes because they are a newer company starting out, but still.
So, if you would like to try this for only $5, go to www.getdatebox.com, and enter "Bethke" at checkout!

I received mine in the color 006 My Bae (fourth from the left), which is very... pink.  I love pink toned eyeshadows, but you've got to be careful!  It is sometimes difficult to walk that line between sunset eyeshadow look and child who broke into their mom's makeup.  Using this as a standalone eyeliner almost takes it a step further to, my child stole used my makeup and the gave me pink eye. Sorry, extended metaphor, moving on.
It is like a paintbrush style applicator, but it is hard like a silicone tip instead of brush hairs.  It makes applicati…

Nadine West: Fourth Shipment

So this wasn't the most successful shipment ever, but I still got one nice piece out of it!  And they left me a sweet surprise which I'll tell you about at the end, so I wasn't upset at all!
This is actually two items from my shipment!  This outfit contains both the shirt and leggings from this month, and they kind of go together!
Though I really liked the pattern of the leggings, they are much more like tights.  They were totally see through, which made me pretty sad.  If they were marketed as tights then I wouldn't be too disappointed, but these were called Leggings.  They retailed for $14.49, and I didn't keep them.
The shirt fit very well and was extremely comfy.  I have been looking for a shirt this color, so I was pretty excited to see it in my bag, even though it is pretty basic.  This shirt also retailed for $14.49, and I did elect to keep it!
These are the "Beauty Within" earrings, and I'm actually pretty sure I received the matching neckl…

VoxBox: Tressemé Beauty-Full Volume

I know I don't usually post at 9 o'clock on Monday nights, but I wanted to go ahead and get this out to you all while I had time, because... I got another VoxBox! This one was the Tresemmé Reverse Your Routine box with a full sized shampoo and conditioner.

This is a Volumizing system, and is reffered to as "Reverse Your Routine" because you conditioner before you shampoo... Weird right?  I have to say I was a little confused and skeptical at first. The concept is that when you put conditioner in your hair and rinse then residue is left on weighing down your hair.  My thoughts were that the residue left were the moisturizing properties and that you wouldn't want to rid yourself of all of them... It just seemed a little pointless.
I have been using this combination periodically for a few weeks now, and surprisingly I actually really like it!  When I get out of the shower my hair does feel much lighter than usual.  Though it is hard to tell if I have much more volu…
