Dorm Life VoxBox

I got another VoxBox from Influenster!  This is a company that sends complementary products to a group of people in exchange for reviews and posts about them.  So this is sponsored in a way, but all opinions are 100% true and my own!  If you want to see allllll of my sponsored posts then check out my Instagram, because they are coming!  I am @bethanyallen15.

This is called the #DormLife VoxBox and it is themed around all the different kinds of things a college girl might want or need!

Look at all of the stuff in this box!  It is packed to the brim, and with a large variety of things, so let's get into it.

This is the Not Your Mother's Naturals Tapioca and Rice Dry Shampoo.  I loooove dry shampoo and use it on the daily, but personally, I am very loyal to Batiste brand.  I have tried a couple others and not really been impressed, but Not Your Mother's is usually a very nice brand, so I was super excited to give this a shot.  This retails for about $9.

This is the Alba Botanica AcneDote Face and Body Scrub.  It has a very nice lather, which I find to be lacking in a lot of facial scrubs.  Though the particles are smaller than a scrub like the St. Ives Apricot, it is still quite abrasive.  This might be a bit rough for regular use on the face, but I feel as if can really get in there on the body!  This has Salicylic Acid in it, which isn't always my favorite since I try to stick to natural treatments like tea tree oil, but if you like this ingredient then it will be great.  It retails for about $6-$7.

TMI Alert
These are the Tampax Pocket Pearl Regular size tampons.  These reminded me of the U-by-Kotex Click tampons.  They work the same way, where they are only the size of the tampon in the wrapper, and then once you open them you pull the handle of the applicator out until it clicks into place.  I actually really liked these!  I am not the biggest fan of tampons because I think they are uncomfortable, but these actually weren't!  Though they did leak a bit initially.  Overall though, I would buy these again, and it came with a coupon!  A box of 34 of these is about $7, but this only came with 3 so I don't have a price for that.

These are the Sour Punch Mini Bites in Assorted and Ragin' Reds.  These come in like an Oreo package where the top peels back and is resealable.  I am not the biggest fan of these already, but that is just a personal preference.  I gave the assorted ones to my roommate and kept the reds, because red is always best.  I looked, and I couldn't really find a set price for these.

This is the Balance Cookie Dough protein bar.  It had 15 grams of protein and 23 vitamins and minerals.  I love the idea of something that's a bit healthier tasting like a dessert, but I'm just not sure I believe that... Protein bars tend to always have a mealy texture that I'm not a fan of, but I'm totally willing to give this one a shot!  A box of six bars retails for about $5, which isn't too bad.

Finally, I received a color from the new Sinful Colors line called Punk Yourself.  The blue is actually a top coat, and it is in the color Rebel Rebel.  It also came with the color Snow Me White to use as a base.  So the thought is, you are supposed to paint a thin coat of the blue topcoat while the base is still wet.  In theory, the blue is supposed to bubble and pull together giving it a tie dyed look, but sadly, it looked more like I'd colored on my nails with a marker.  I'm going to give it another shot because I like the concept, but this just wasn't the best.  I usually love the Sinful Colors brand because they are good quality for a good price, so I'm not hating on the brand! This just wasn't my favorite polish line they've ever released.  If you do want to try it out they are only about $2 each, so you wouldn't be out much!

College Countdown: Basic College Packing List

In this list I'm not going to go over every single thing.  Throughout this week I will do separate posts on Clothing and Makeup etc.  On Saturday of this week I will post a concise version of this including everything mentioned.  For now I would just like to go over basics such as kitchen items, "school supplies" and other items you may not have thought of! Kitchen These are basics that you might need if you are in a dorm and do not necessarily have a kitchen.  I will have a sink, so it will be doable for me to wash dishes as needed.  If you do not have a sink you might consider buying disposable silverware and dishes so you won't have to wash them in the bathroom. Plastic Bowls Plastic Cups Tumblers or Reusable Water Bottles - I recommend this regardless of if you have a sink. Brita Pitcher - The water will probably be different from what you are used to, and this will make the transition easier Ice Cube Trays Plastic Ice Cubes - If the water is jus...

Homemade Beauty... De-Puff Tired Eyes

Have you ever tried Green tea before? Personally I am not a huge fan, but it can be a great way to decrease puffiness around your eyes! Buy the iced tea version, mix up a batch, and to stick it in the fridge. After it has chilled, soak a couple of cotton rounds in the tea and lay them on your eyes. The caffeine helps to shrink the appearance of the blood vessels, and the antioxidants help eliminate inflammation.  Another great option to de-puff your eyes are slices of raw potato. Just peel, slice, and chill them before applying to the eye area. The potato acts as a natural astringent and will take down the swelling! :) Credit to:   http://www.seventeen.com/beauty/tips/diy-beauty-treatments#slide-1

Popsugar: January

Though this box wasn't as good as December in my opinion, I am still loving this!  These are so much fun!!  I would like to apologize for my photography skills this time though... I was trying to hurry and shoot these before I left to come back to school a few weeks ago and I let quality slip.  I'll do my best not to let it happen again! The theme words for January were new, fresh, detox, motivation, healthy, and revitalize.  That seems pretty standard for January, everyone is making an attempt at getting healthier for their new years resolutions! This is the Daily Concepts Hair Wrap towel.  I'd seen these before at every grocery and beauty store while they were super popular, but I'd never really bought into it.  They are supposed to cut drying time and reduce frizz, so I guess we can give this a shot!  Though from first glance taking it out of its case, I'm not totally sure how to use it...  Anyway, this retails for $18 on the Daily ...
