Ipsy: April 2016 Throwback

This is my Ipsy bad from April last year!  I wasn't able to get this up for some reason, but I thought it might be fun to show what I got and what I really think a year later!

Looking back on it this was honestly probably one of my favorite bags I've received, I still use every one of these products!

This is the softest brush!  I hadn't ever tried this brand prior to receiving it in my bag, but I would buy more of them in a heartbeat!  It is the perfect brush for applying a powder highlight to your cheekbones.  A year later I still use it every time I apply highlighter.

This is the Jor'el Parker Fango Mud Therapy Mask.  After using this, as well as the Glam Glow Supermud Mask, I would say they are very comparable!  This goes on a forest kind of green and then dries much lighter.  Similar to the Glam Glow, as soon as it dries you can see the little pinpoints of each of your pores as it begins to draw out the oils and other gunk.  I suggest getting samples of the Glam Glow while you are in Sephora to try out, but leaving the full jar on the shelf!  You can buy a one ounce bottle of this on Amazon for less than $15 shipped, or a 1.2 ounce jar of Glam Glow at Sephora for $69... You do the math.

When I pulled out this Briogeo Don't Despair Repair! gel-to-oil treatment I wasn't all that enthralled... It's a good thing I am coming back to talk about it a year later!  I have one little section of my hair in my bangs that is the dictionary definition of fried... It will not straighten out and looks terrible.  I recently started using this on that section overnight or when my hair is pulled back and it does wonders!  After being washed out, it relaxes my poor little frizzies and keeps them looking slightly healthier.  If you are having this problem then I highly reccomend!

This is the item I was most excited about initially!  It is the Tart lipstick in Wonder.  I love red lipstick, and this is a nice shear wash of color for when you don't want as intense of a red, and it has a nice minty taste.  I still use it frequently!

This is Trust Fund Beauty's That Glo Tho highlighter stick.  I don't use this all the time, just because powder is easier, but it gives a really nice highlight!  It is perfect for travel, and I have used it in that way multiple times now.  I don't have a travel sized powder highlighter, so this eliminates that, and the need for a brush!  Perfect!

Honestly this ended up being a wonderful bag, and I can't for the life of me understand why I never got it posted!  Regardless, I still highly recommend Ipsy to anyone that hasn't tried it and I hope to renew my subscription eventually!

Last Minute Present: Oven Mitt

This is a super easy (and cheap) present that someone who loves baking or cooking would adore!  I received this as a gift last year and I was so excited!  To top it all off, this present couldn't get any easier, and it could be made for under $10 but is very versatile and can be made as elaborate or simple as you want!   So the basics, you are going to need an oven mitt to put the whole present in, and then a few tools to solidify the cooking theme.  I know for a fact the mitt, as well as the tools below, came from Walmart and can be snagged super cheap. Then you need to fill it with candy and food!  In mine she added chocolate chip cookie mix, hot chocolate mix, and candy canes.  Super simple right?  And definitely something you could run to Walmart right now and put together.  Like I said before, there are many variations you could do with this present!  My mom has a wood burning tool and can burn designs into wooden...

Winter As a College Student

Let me just tell you, there isn't a thing in the world fun about a dorm room in the winter!  On the happen chance that yours is as old as mine (pre-1960s, thank you very much) you probably have radiators too, which personally, I have very little control over.  Even on the off setting they exude so much heat that the room is stifling!  And then you open the window and snow starts blowing in... Yay Appalachian Mountains! Let's just all agree that is quite a process.  So what is one to do to combat these cold (and getting colder!) temperatures? First, I've got two B's for you (mostly because I couldn't come up with a third...)  Blankets and Bedwarmers! Let's face it, dorm rooms are tiny and your bed is the focus of the majority of decor, as well as where you will be spending a large portion of your time (yay Netflix binges!) so you need to make sure it is super cozy! Personally, I have my sheets and comforter that I sleep under every night.  ...

Apartment Tour + Fall Decor!

It's coming a bit late, because by this point I have Christmas decor up, but why not?  It isn't December yet, and I loved my fall decor and wanted to show it off! Entrance and "Dining Room" We did our best to section off the living room/dining room/kitchen area so it had a house feel that trashy college apartment.  We also tried to add all the things we could to make it feel more bright and homey since only one piece of furniture in here is actually ours!  The rest was provided for us. So for the dining are my roommate who replaced her desk chair with a comfy version brought out her chair so we could have 5 seats.  We then added cute placemats which stay out year round For fall decor I added the glittery leaf centerpiece and a few candles, as well as the wine bottles! I painted these, and though they aren't my best I still liked them!  I used twine on the top, stickers from Target around the sides, and painters tape to make the letters, and th...
