Outer Banks 2013: Day 11, Monday June 17th

9:00 AM
Well we had to wake up early this morning... Since Elijah was sick yesterday we missed a lot of what we were going to do, and had to try and fit it all in in two days instead of three. But missing that day was worth it because he feels so much better today :) We had waffles again foe breakfast this morning, which were just as good as the day before. Now we are driving across the road to the Wright Brothers Memorial.

Now we are on our way to Currituck Lighthouse!

We de decided to stop for lunch at a place in Duck called Route 12.
 We know about it because it was featured on the Tv show Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. I had Chicken Tenders and fries, which were very good :)
4:00 PM
We just left Currituck Lighthouse, the Wildlife Center, and The Whalehead Club.

For something that was built to be purely functional, it has some pretty iron work :)

Now we are on our way back to Duck to do some shopping :)

We just left the shopping center! I didn't get anything, but I did get this humungo snow cone!
It was huge!!!
Now we are heading out to eat!

Tonight, our last night, we ate at the Sugarshack where I had Bacon and Cheese filled Potato Skins. Once again we got to watch the sun set while we ate which was very pretty :)

 We were planning on playing Putt-putt one last time before vacation ended, but it is raining :( So instead we are making another trip back to Kitty Hawk Kites! :)

Made it back to the room finally :) At Kitty Hawk Kites Elijah got to pick out a toy, so he picked this set where you build a straw... It sounded kind of weird, until I saw him do it :)
Now I think it is pretty awesome :)
We have been working on repacking up all of our suitcases again and we just finished! So I would say it is time to go to bed. Goodnight everyone! :)

I'm considering a new series on this blog... How would you all feel about wine Wednesdays?  Not every Wednesday of course, but just to mix things up sometimes!  Most all of the drinks I make end up being something I concoct from various ideas and recipes I see online, and then add wine to it, and voilà, wine punch!  And I see a distinct lack of wine punch or creative sangria recipes on Pinterest, so look no further; I'm coming to the rescue! Ipsy: May

We are back again with an old classic!  I have had Ipsy for years and paused it on and off from time to time, but it is definitely still my favorite subscription by far.  If you would like to sign up,  you can click here ! I had planned to review this one, but I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with the contents of this bag!  The last few have been great, so I was pretty shocked!  The actual bag however is glittery and gorgeous ! The first thing in this bag that I was most excited about was this full size Ofra liquid lipstick in the color Versailles.  The color is ok in the tube, but on the lips it is very shimmery to the point of having a frosty finish with no color whatsoever.  Also, when I took the wand out of the tube it looked separated... Somehow simultaneously oily and chunky.  I tried to mix it a bit, but as a result it felt more like a gloss than a liquid lipstick.  Disappointing...  This is the Innisfree ...

Love With Food: March Throwback

So you all might remember at the beginning of the year last year I tried out a few free and discounted food subscription boxes, one of which was the Love With Food Box! It is regularly $9.99 per month for a monthly subscription, which I think is a bit much...  But on Leap Day in February they had a special running for $17.98 for a three month subscription, which is about $9 cheaper than the regular 3 month subscription, and works out to about $6 per month!  I'll but into that! I know I'm super late with this one... But I wanted to post it anyway! These Lemon Wafer Bites by Dolcetto were the first thing my mom took and said "Let's try these!"  They were little wafers filled with lemon creme, and were so tasty!  Probably my favorite out of this box...
