Summer Essentials: Makeup Bags

This is the first of a new series called the "Summer Essentials"!  Enjoy! :) So... when you are going somewhere on vacation you can't just carry all of your makeup around in your hands, I mean who does that! We've got to pack in style! I found quite a few different makeup bag, case, and organizer options, and most are at relatively cheap prices! Check them out and find the one that is perfect for you!! :) 1. This is a small sequined cloth bag with a zipper top. Cloth is less structured and is more apt to absorb spills, but you can also just toss it into the washing machine when it gets dirty.  This would be a bag I would stick into my purse for the day or for an overnight trip. It's dimensions are   7" High x 10" Wide x 2" Deep It comes in Blue and White, Black and White, and Pink and Black. $5.80 at  www.forever21.com/beauty_acc 2. This is a larger striped cosmetic bag with a handle, the top zips around to flip back.

Mini Cinnamon Buns

I made these the other night for my family, they were a huge hit! :) Mini (no yeast) Cinnamon Buns 1-8oz tube crescent roll dough 2 Tbsp butter, melted cinnamon brown sugar Preheat oven to 350F degrees (or whatever your tube of crescent roll instructs). Spray 16 tins of a mini muffin pan with nonstick spray. Set aside. Flour your counter surface to prevent sticking, roll out half of the dough (4 triangles) and close the seams together by pinching. Flip over and pinch those seams together as well. Smooth out the seams with a rolling pin OR cover the dough with parchment paper and roll over with a glass cup. You want the dough to be totally smooth and 1/4″ thick. Brush with 1 tbsp melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Use as much or as little as you prefer. Roll into a log and cut into 8 equal buns. Repeat steps 2-4 with the other half of the crescent roll dough.  Place 16 buns into the prepared muffin tins. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the buns are l

Holiday and Winter Travel Tips

So you are heading off to your families house for Christmas, but there is one problem... they live in Timbuktu. Here are a few packing tips and space savers to make that long journey to Timbuktu, a little easier :) Christmas Gifts : Depending on what the gift is, you may save quit a bit of money by  shipping your presents by UPS versus taking them  along for the plane ride. You could also order gifts online and have them shipped directly to your destination. Just remember to let your family or friends know that a package is coming and NO peeking is allowed. Wrapped Packages : Since airport security officials need to inspect all items, your hard work of wrapping each gift in the prettiest bows and paper might be destroyed if you attempt to take them with you. An  alternative  is to opt to wrap the gifts after you arrive at your destination, or wrap them beforehand and ship them instead. Bulky Clothes : If you're traveling to colder climates, you're going to need to pack
